DisplayPort is a new digital display interface standard put forth by the Video Electronics Standards Association (VESA). It defines a digital audio/video interconnect intended to be used between computer and display monitors, or computers and home theater systems. Similar to HDMI, in that it supports both Digital Video/Audio signals, DisplayPort is geared more toward the computer market, where HDMI dominates the Home Theater market. Tripp Lite's DisplayPort cables support a maximum bandwidth of 10.8Gbps, as well as DPCP (DisplayPort Content Protection), HDCP, and Ultra High Definition (UHD) 4K x 2K video resolutions up to 3840 x 2160, including 1080p.

      Purchased the wrong Cable
      I was told I need this cable in order to get my monitor and tower to work again. It wasn’t the problem. The problem was the DP to HDMI adapter not the DP to DP cable which did fix the problem. I’d like to return the cable-but just haven’t made the time to do so.

      Rated 5 out of 5 by from I should have purchased Tripp-Lite First! After buying from -8elkin, Rosewill, SiiG and Anphenol I should have purchased this brand first! It would have saved me lots of time and bumps on my head replacing all of those other garbage brands! For some reason I believe G.Sync stresses the cable when used often which caused the cables from the other brands to fail over a short amount of time! So far this cable is humming after a year of use! I just ordered three more to swap out my aphenol brand cables as I know they are sure to fail once again! Bravo Tripp Lite for making a cable that actually lasts!
