Maximum application performance and reliability
The ProLiant ML530 Generation 2 is a high-performance 2-way server that delivers industry-leading expansion and availability features. ProLiant engineering and design expertise optimize system resources for intensive data center and remote office environments. Processor, memory, and I/O subsystems combine to provide unbeatable price/performance for database engines or server consolidation efforts. Internal expansion of up to 14 hot-plug hard drives and 7 PCI-X slots allows application flexibility and headroom for future growth. Intelligent fault resilience features, such as Advanced Memory Protection technology and hot-plug components guarantee maximum uptime for business-critical and infrastructure applications.
High performance design
Intel Xeon processors not only increase system performance, they can also handle a significantly greater workload per processor. That means customers can add more users per server, or more applications per server, and the system will still run significantly faster than Intel Pentium III Xeon systems. Plus the 512k L2 cache means the ProLiant ML530 G2 can be used in CPU intensive environments such as database applications. HP engineers have balanced the processor resources with a new enterprise class chipset, providing high performance DDR SDRAM, 2:1 interleaved DDR SDRAM and PCI-X technology.
Intelligent fault design
High-availability features, including Advanced Memory Protection technology and hot-plug components, exceed competitive 2P feature sets in the market. Intelligent fault resilience reduces servicing downtime and ease system expansion. Continuing to drive innovation into the mainstream server market, the ProLiant ML530 G2 unveils memory features designed to maintain server availability without service intervention. The ProLiant ML530 G2 memory features include Mirrored Memory, Online Spare Memory, and Advanced ECC Memory.
Optimized for server consolidation
The system ships standard with 12 hot-plug drive bays, with optional expansion to 14 hot-plug drives. Drive capacity to 14, combined with 7 PCI-X slots, an embedded 10/100 NIC and up to 16GB of memory, means the ProLiant ML530 G2 is the ideal platform to target for server consolidation efforts or place in growing environments. Customers tell us the ProLiant ML530 lets them "put as much stuff as possible" into the server for the most efficient use of hardware resources.
