Rated 5 out of 5 by from Suffers from communication issues but decent unit Well for a company that is global I expected the wireless setup to be easier. Adding to my home network was more challenging than any other device I have ever purchased. I have 3 smart speakers 6 Wi-Fi controlled receptacles, Nest thermostat, 10 IP cameras and about 15 smart lights. Then it still seems to go off line. When it works, I really enjoy it. Changing the media is pretty easy and the app is pretty straight forward and has lots of templates. So for a person connecting to a computer, this is a great printer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from good quality labels, tedious installation Produces quality labels quickly. However, the wireless install was far from smooth; the installation guide was confusing and poorly laid out. The P-Touch software is dated and overly complex. Label stock should be automatically detected and appropriate layout adjustments made.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awful instructions Very poor instructions. Could not get it to link with my laptop. Went online to brother to try and figure it out. Website was not helpful either. Definitely would not buy again. Went back to my ql 700 with a USB cable, just have to plug in printer when I get ready to do labels.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from machine fine. Software obtuse. the machine itself is excellent. only model that prints red and black without ribbon. impossible to understand instructions as to how to create and use labels. Took me - and a graphics expert - three days to get the first label. That was with assistance from Brother tech who did not know how to do it either.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quick There are no simple instructions as to how to print a label. When I create on and then try to print, the power light on the printer blinks red and I get a pop-up that says "Paper installed is incompatible w/monochrome paper. At other times the label prints fine. I had a chat session and the tech reloaded all the drivers even though I had the latest ones installed. After the tech was finished, the same thing is happening. The Printing Section in the manual does not address the blinking red power light. A simple instruction as to what to do when this happens would resolve this.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Brother QL- 810w Label Printer I received this product for free from Brother in exchange for my honest opinion/review of the product. I received the QL-810w by mail and opened the package to confirm what was in the box. The unit was smaller and lighter than I had expected. The product seemed to be built well and durable, and the design was simple and straight forward. The instructions with the unit are very clear and include pictures and descriptions in case you need the help. With the instructions being so clear, the installation process into the computer was very fast and easy without any confusion. It has a really nice "follow the next step" process. After the software installation was finished, I installed the first of the two label paper rolls that came with the unit. The installation into the unit was simple and had a slot guide to help ensure that the paper was installed at the correct location. Fitting the label paper from the roll to the printer part was a bit trickier than expected, but it can be done. Once I closed the top, the unit fed the paper to the correct starting point and I was ready to print. The first thing that I noticed when I started to choose the font is that it actually had ALL of the fonts that were on my computer (even my specialized ones). This is one of the coolest features I have seen on a label maker unit. Others that I have used seemed to be limited to standard type fonts that you usually see anywhere. The setting before printing was as simple as printing a paper document. Type what you want, move it where you need it, and print. Then, it prints. The clarity of the prints was finely detailed and did not give that cheap fuzzy look that you see with other label makers. I tested multiple type fonts, from cursive styles, to bold and block styles, and for kicks, I even tested Wingdings. The printing quality was top notch! I decided to test it out with the other roll that came with the unit which was a continuous style roll. Changing the paper was easy, as once the new one was in, the unit recognized the size and adjusted accordingly. With the new roll, I decided to add in some clip art and basic pictures into the label and even changed the wording to red. Very simple and cool. The unit does seem to have a limitation of how detailed the pictures can be, and does not deal with shading very well, so it can limit the pictures you can use. I did attempt to connect the unit to my cell phone through the app available, and though I am saavy enough with apps, the actual connection never happened and I eventually gave up on it. But with taking all of it into account, the QL-810w is a solid unit with great quality and speed, and must have for personnel that has the need for quick organization and labeling of what ever need need. Pros: Easy assembly and installation Powered by both power plug and battery (very mobile unit) Wireless capabilities Clear and high quality Customization ability for size, font and other details Use of personal fonts (if you have some) Super fast print Cons: Some bigger black printing have red outlines Hard mobile phone app connection Continuous size label is hard to determine the size you need Overall: Its a great unit with a wide range of capabilities. Perfect for an office, or home business that deals with folders, filling, or anything that needs organization and clarity.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic, Quick, and Easy - Love It I received this product for free from Brother in exchange for my honest opinion/review of the product. I have never used a wireless printer until now. Wow, it makes a huge difference. The label printer is amazing. I love being able to print labels while I am eating my lunch. It prints very quickly. I take a bathroom break and when I come back, the labels are already printed. I loved the size of the printer. It fits very conveniently on my already cluttered desk. The LCD display is nicely backlit and easy to read. The colors are very vivid. The printer creates very professional looking labels. And the automatic cutter is a nice touch.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from QL-810W - not as wireless as claimed We purchased two QL-810W. We understood that they were wireless and we would use them with iPads. What we found out is they are wireless if you get the additional battery module for them. Without it, I had to reformat the printer every time I disconnected it from power to move it. Once I purchased the battery module, it worked as advertised.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Brother review I received this product for free from Brother in exchange for my honest opinion/review of the product. After the set up, which was extremely difficult to do on my smart phone. Which I was never ever to connect WiFi to. I used my apple desk top. Once I was able to print the brothers was very easy to use and quite enjoyable. I was labeling my butt off. It is really good to label items that we have put up for later use. Also being a recording a recording studio the labels came in handy labeling cables. On the lighter side I did use the labeled to so label letters on the business and friends side. So all in all I give the brothers QW-810W a 0 for setting up on an apple smartphone. And for use and printing and labeling I give it a 9.5

Once I received the QL-810w,I was very pleased with the easy to follow instructions to set up and easy to use while on the go. I like the wifi feature it has making it possible to print from any of mobile devices on the same network. I would definitely recommend this printer if you are looking for something practical and affordable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Makes commercial quality labels at home I received this product for free from Brother in exchange for my honest opinion/review of the product. I work in an education setting where we seemingly need at least three labeled folders for every student, employee and vendor who crosses our path. Label making was honestly a chore I loathed, especially at the beginning of a new semester when the bulk of the work fell to me. The Brother QL-810w changed that. The printer is basically put together when you pull it out of the box. You need only to plug it in and install the right set of labels. At first glance, I wasn`t sure how the labels went in, but it`s easy to figure out by looking at the photo on the box. Software setup was simple. I got it directly off the Brother website. It was a lot of clicking yes, yes, ok, etc., but it`s fairly automatic aside from that. I could easily install the device as both a wired and wireless printer. That said, the label making program it comes with seemed unnecessarily complex at first. It`s not difficult to use once you get the hang of it, but figuring it out and making it work for you takes some trial and error. There are lots of templates to choose from which is nice, but the software is basically a full desktop publishing program so it`s got a lot of editing options that an average user might not need. Users looking to make commercial quality labels complete with company logo and such would get more use out of this than I would. I simply want something that prints names, ID numbers, and so forth on peel-off stickers. What I found most impressive though was the ease with which I can merge my own database into the software and it spits out what I need in seconds. I already convinced Purchasing to buy two more for other departments, and I have to say that at the price point the printer is currently, I`d buy one even for personal use. This would especially be a fun gadget for the home business person or compulsive organizer. All in all, a neat alternative to doing labels the old fashioned way.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Quality Printing I received this product for free from Brother in exchange for my honest opinion/review of the product. I participated in a market research study and received this product to evaluate, To start with, I spent way too much time setting this up. The printer comes with 2 sample rolls (2.4 in and 1.1 in.The 2.4 is a black/Red label, so make sure you have it set correctly or it is complain about incompatible label. First , Install all the software from the installer. The QL-810W`s connectivity options are Wi-Fi, connecting to a single PC via USB, and Wi-Fi DirectThe Lite that comes with printer is pretty useless, so you want press the LITE button to turn that off on the printer. Once you have the USB printing working, you can set up the wireless using the Printer Setting Tool. It is pretty straight forward. Once set up, you should be able remove USB and print wireless. It is capable of printing more than 2,000 labels without needing a recharge. However, the battery seems to last different lengths of time, depending on the quality of the output. It has nine resolution settings ranging from 100dpi to 600dpi, with the highest being 600dpi by 300dpi. While, when printing text, I didn`t notice a significant quality difference after 300dpi, the higher resolutions did improve graphics and photo output. The printer has 6 buttons: Power, Feed, Cutter, WPS Wi-Fi, and Editor Lite. The templates available are adequate for address labels and badges . The text is very legible and liked the quality of the images and graphics that I added to labels. You also have access to its iPrint and Label mobile app for designing and printing labels from your smartphone or tablet. In the end, it is nice being able to print with not being tied to cables. Quality is good, printing speed is par to the specs and once set up, very easy to operate.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Small Label Printer I received this product for free from Brother in exchange for my honest opinion/review of the product. The label printer is ideal for at-Home businesses - I actually make labels for small packaging of products and for envelopes. This printer allows me to print the labels fast right at my dining room table. Super easy to use- only thing I wish were different were more color choices, as a part-time party planner I`d like the option of more colors not just the red & black.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Pros & Cons Great little machine, works well and have no problem with connectivity. But! Wish you could save and file away labels for later use. On iphone app, it saves automatically but not forever. Can't search older label. You waste of time scrolling through all of them trying to find a particular one. Also does not last long in sun. Heat or Sun bleaches them out completely within a couple of weeks. Doesn't last.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from How many times do you needlessly replace the print Support and documentation are most important to me. This printer gets a zero for qulaity on these departments. I bought a long roll or prepunched Brother labels at Staples for about 30 bucks. Made 40 something hello my name is labels. The printer driver for Wifi never told me why it was unhappy. I unloaded all software and began again. This time just USB. Now I get an error and it says not right size paper. No button or check box that says :Use the label in the machine. Kiss . What a concept aye? So now I cruise all the printer thingeys in the app, changing one at a time until it prints. Like changing a 3.01 to 3.9" or 2.94 to 2.9 and checking off auto. I got it working and went through 40+ names using the file that worked. BTW the nice lady did not have me check any of this and requested a replacement.eee yah!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good printer for a totally wireless setup We use 6 of these to print labels with Planning Center Checkins software on an iPad. They have been working quite well as a completely wireless solution with no issue since we got them a year ago. The consistency of print has been good until recently which I believe can be sorted out with cleaning. The label holders were a bit of a strange situation because we ended up with a few that had to be forcefully broken apart so that the old roll could be removed and a new one inserted. WiFi connection is reliable even when our building is congested and batteries (purchased separately) have been doing their job well. Overall for the money we paid we are very happy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Least user friendly tool i have ever seen Its a royal pain to setup. When you connect to the wifi to your phone an go through this weird password process, why would you need a password, like is someone going to steal my label maker. Once connected it never redirects to the Home Wifi network to set the printer to wifi. When you look at the phone after connecting it just sets there and spins saying "your device is connecting with 'QL-810W'. Its a great idea to have a wireless connection to a label maker.....Brother really missed on the setup process execution

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A nice label printer, works good The label print works well but the address book is horrible. They really don't make it easy to change. It has 5 lists (Personal, Business, Other1, Other2, and Other3 that can't be edited or added to, why is that? I tried to make a simple label but I need to change the templet in the lists and can't.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Whatever you do, do not buy this for labels This printer is absolutely horrible. Purchased with the intent of printing shipping labels through usps for e-commerce and has been an absolute nightmare, the quality is terrible. I repeat DO NOT BUY.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Extremely hard to use. HORRIBLE software The software is impossible to use and make sense of. Do not believe their claims of it being easy to use. All I want is to simply print address labels and this has 8,000 types of templates, none of them make sense. I have the continuous roll and it forces you to only be able to print one direction so its incredibly disorienting to use. Its constantly falling off the network, even with static IP, if its not off the network it claims it is in "error status" but provides ZERO information on how to resolve. Overall this totally sucks.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to Read Labels with Losts of Options This is my first experience with a Brother Label Printer, I used to own a Dymo Labelmaker. I switched because the Brother stated that it was wireless. I am still getting use to the software and different options that the Brother has. Overall, I would say that it prints very nicely, but i need to become more experienced with the software.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super fast printer! I received this product for free from Brother in exchange for my honest opinion/review of the product. I was extremely excited to use this printer since I have never worked with a thermal printer at home for my online business and so far I really love it. When I completed my first print I honestly thought I did something wrong because it spit it out so fast. This thing prints immediately as soon as you press print! I like that the software provided gives you some templates to work with or you can design your own and use a variety of different fonts (including shadow and outline), justifications, text boxes, etc. You can also use two different fonts in the same label. It`s not just for shipping labels either, you can use it for pretty much anything that you`d need a label for! Brother provides two sample sized rolls to try out - one is the standard address (pre-cut) and the other is a wider width "white paper tape" which is very convenient if you are making your own labels since it will cut the label wherever you want and you can make many different sizes (great for shelf labels, name tags, and shipping stickers for fragile items. You can print barcodes as well, insert your own logo, and use clip art. On the downside, not sure if it was me, my computer or the unit, but it seemed to take forever to initially get the software set up. Then, I kept getting error messages regarding monochromatic printing (needed to turn it off, apparently it defaults to this so you need to turn "Two color mode" on) and then an error that it was set to high-resolution and I needed to change to standard. I would think that the black output and standard resolution would be the default and you would have to change it if you wanted anything else. Also the text color output is not "black" it`s that blackish red color, I`m assuming since the printer will also print red. All in all, I really liked this printer and will make a lot of use out of it, it does SO much more than a traditional label printer. It`s wonderful quality, the small design can fit in small work spaces and it also has the ability to print via a mobile app.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Udated review Ok, I've aired my frustrations about the Brother QL810W label printer. I'm not sure Brother reads the reviews because the obvious problems customers are having still exist even though some of the reviews telling of setup problems are several months old. Just in case they do read their reviews I've decided to try to help by offering some suggestions. 1 It's obvious there are problems understanding the setup procedure, so I suggest picking several random people off the street, a typical customer, and let them struggle through setting up a QL810W printer without any assistance or prodding.. 2 Note the problems these test participants have. From the information acquired, write an instruction booklet that CLEARLY guides the customer through a successful setup. If it doesn't work, try again, and again until a good instruction booklet is obtained. 3 With a good instruction booklet in all new products and a copy readily accessible on the Brother website there should be much less time spent calling Brother Support, therefore less hold time waiting for support to answer. 4 If other Brother products are suffering the same fate I suggest applying this simple fix to those products as well..
