The auto switching functionality provides for a system that is easy to use, while manual switching functionality is available for situations where more control is desired. The auto switching feature is able to sense when a new device is connected or powered on and will automatically switch to that port. When the device is disconnected or powered off, then this feature automatically switches to the first connected device. In situations where three devices are connected to the switch and powered on, or sending an HDMI signal to the switch, the Select button on the top of the switch may be used to switch between the three inputs.

Much smaller footprint than I thought and easy to connect three components back out to one 100' HDMI that runs up one wall across the attic then down another wall to the TV. Easy to install and locate something this small. And, it works perfectly!

Rated 5 out of 5 byDavid from Precisely what I hoped it would doMy Mother-In-Law is very important to me. I want to make her TV/Movie/Music capabilities very nice but they must be very easy. I bought this so she can power-on her CD/BlueRay player and have all the switching bits happen without her to be "operating" her stuff. One tiny detail not explicitly described in the description is the switch will happen if a (previously) connected device is powered-on. You do not have to unplug/plug devices for it to work. This device is just what I needed.
