Rated 5 out of 5 by from small ink cartridges - great ink! I only wish that this Canon printer had higher capacity ink tanks, for the frequency of tank changing is a nuisance. The printer is in another room, access requires climbing stairs, and the ink remaining status is just a bit pessimistic and coarse. The ink, on the other hand is what I like in this Pro100 model printer; prefer it to the Epson pigments I see from other students' work when the use a big Epson professional studio printer. Maybe just a personal idiosyncrasy?

I am able to print up to 250 high quality 5x7 pictures before there is a need to replace any of the ink cartridges. I am very pleased with quality of the prints as well.

I have only experienced 1 instance with a backorder which was shipped promptly and I was only delayed 1 week. I have only had one problem with Canon products and services and that is the difficulty of navigating the web site. It is cumbersome and due to assumptions of the marketing people who set up the site, the items I want take forever to find. They should not try to second guess what people are looking for. Place items in categories with easy to find subsets in drop-downs. In searching for my ink, I have been sent through endless circles of items that I am not interested in. Other than this, everything is fantastic.

But I can take a few minutes to study the documentation for the price. I also don’t need to move the printer around. For my uses, this printer is wonderful! It was extremely easy to put together and install. I had installed the printer, printed a test photo and printed page in just a few minutes. I love Canon printers.

The only downside is that the inks are a bit pricey, but the end result is well worth it... art prints that are rich and colorful!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Insanely expensive to print with Canon Printers Insanely expensive, the Pro-100 is nearly unusable because of the cost of ink and paper. I purchased a new HP with the "eco" tanks and it is a fraction of the cost of any Canon. I found some after market inks, after trying several, that is indistinguishable from the OEM ink. Not sure about longevity but but it is 75% less money and the color matching is using Print Shop Pro is equivalent. I purchased this OEM for shooting and printing my daughters wedding. You can expect to get 25 prints of 8.5x11 before something runs out. crazy.

The price is quite a bit more than 3rd party inks, but it is not worth the savings. I typically purchase an 8 tank set once a year and then single color cartridges through the year as they run out.
