I like these chargers but they break pretty easily. My last one lasted maybe a full calendar year. Granted, I take it with my to school a lot. However, I now reinforce it with electrical tape.

Dell needs to offer compatible replacement parts
I had to replace the power cord that came with my Dell Laptop. I searched for the cord based on the model of my Dell Laptop and this was the only cord that came up in the search. It was very expensive. The cord looks exactly the same as my old one that broke. However, each time I plug it in the laptop says to plug in the cord that came with the computer and using this one won't charge it as well or efficiently and the laptop won't perform at its best. Super annoying.

I ordered this charger because it was recommended for my laptop per your website. IT WAS NOT the correct product. I have wasted at least two hours of my time trying to return it. Gone around and around in circles trying to reset my password and as I am sure you are aware it is absolutely impossible to speak to a person and when you do finally get to one they are foreign and almost impossible to understand, and not able to solve the issue. All they do is send you back to the continuous merry go round on the web site.

I was unhappy with my purchase because the fact that my laptop model was listed as compatible did NOT mean that the power output was satisfactory for the needs of support for the device. i turned around and ordered the step up 65 Watt version but they were out of stock and I have to wait until MAY for my order to be satisfied. I am using the ordered device as a stopgap until my REAL need can be satisfied. One would expect the shelves to be stocked with an adequate supply of replacement parts since the Inspirons are gettin long in the tooth relative to reliability and connector quality.

I purchased a replacement power cord for my aging 2-in-1 laptop. This is the second such replacement I've bought. The first didn't actually fit (product description said it would) and immediately frayed where the cord connected to the little black box.
Already, this cord from Dell is better. It's higher grade cord. The plastic cover is thicker, I think. It actually fits!
My package arrived quickly and payment didn't alert my bank like it was paying off a displaced African prince.

The charger that shipped with my laptop was a 65-W charger. I could not find an exact replacement for it at 65-W with the same connector. I settled for this and now my laptop complains that it is too weak and that I should use the original charger. Although the adapter is made for my computer it does fit correctly, meaning that it does not always charge my computer when I plug it in. None of the adapters I have used from Dell since the original adapter that came with the computer works. It is nerve-racking to have a presentation and not know if your computer will stay charged. Please help. My computer is no good to me without the ability to keep it charged.

It does it work as intended and no issues, but it is almost impossible to pull the socket from the power plug once it is plugged in, because there is no grip at the edge. It is so slippery at the edge. Furthermore, it is really expensive.

The help I received from the online chat order person was great. He knew what questions to ask and information he needed to get me the correct product. Way better than when I went to a nearby computer store who set me up with a universal charger that did not work at all. The one drawback with this charger is that it doesn't seem to seat in the port tightly and it will stop charging until I get it wiggle it and get just so.

It was exciting to see my old Dell Inspiron laptop fire up and come back to life after plugging in my new OEM Dell 45 W AC Adapter. The plug the port precisely, and the power cord felt thick and durable. After years of hard use and abuse by my playful cat, I had replaced the power port twice and felt depressed when my trusty laptop started failing but, thanks to the Dell adapter and power cord, my old cat and I are happy now to have our laptop back in business.

My last review was deleted by Dell.
This charger IS NOT THE CORRECT CHARGER for the laptop. I went onto Dell's website and looked up my laptop model number and it gave me the chargers and other hardware that goes with my laptop and this was the only charger listed. However when I received the charger (after spending over $50 in shipping and handling) I plugged it into my laptop and it said that it required a 65 watt charger, not the 45 watt that this one is, so it charges much slower. Dell sold me the incorrect charger for my laptop. I recommend that everyone does their research first.

This was the only option that came up when I searched for power cords for Dell XPS 13. It looked like my cord, and had the right connection (usb-c). I didn't do my due diligence in shopping, but thought others might make the same mistake. This adapter reads only 45w. I had misplaced my adapter, and so didn't realize it was 65w. This isn't the right adapter for my xps 9305.

My recent purchase of the Dell 4.5 mm barrel 45 W AC Adapter with 2 meter Power Cord works just fine. Thank you for sending it to me. I may have another issue in that the pin adapter that the power cord plugs into may have an issue. When I plug it in, it takes a while to accept it, so I am not sure if the adapter being probably a barrel/capacitor, takes time to fill with electricity before it is usable, or the pin it plugs in to has problems. I finally got it to work properly so I have no problem with it. Thank you.

I bought one of these to replace a charger from my daughter's Inspiron. It worked for one day until she accidentally tipped her high school yearbook onto it. It could not have fallen more than 20 cm. However that was sufficient to dislodge the barrel sufficiently to render the charger useless. Perhaps some better reliability testing and hardening against simple accidents is required. Identical chargers from some online vendors are much less expensive, but I purchased this with Dell rewards points. Fool me once...

Great addition and step saver for me. I have one power cord in the living room and the second one is upstairs by my desk. Power Cord Adapter
This is the second time I've had to replace my adapter and cord because the tip that inserts into the laptop has broken off, mostly due to sliding off the couch and landing awkwardly. However, it does work well.

The cord works fine and is a great size. Unfortunately, it was not indicated that it is a three-prong plug making it unusable on an airplane. As many people do, I use my xps while traveling. The laptop originally came with a great cord and adapter very similar to this one, but it is 2 prongs. I have been looking for an extra. This product is not it. three prongs will not fit any airplane outlets. Very sad

Never buying Dell again
Replacing cord did not resolve problem and Dell isnt interested in fixing issue without huge costs, pretty sure its a software issue from a bad update as cord is no longer recognized code on diagnostics reflects this and seems to be a large issue with buyers, company has zero interest in doing anything but rendering systems useless as it stopped charging.

We had purchased a non Dell charger to replace my son’s laptop charger but it didn’t quite fit right. The charger we purchased directly from Dell was more expensive but was worth it because it had the exact size for the connection to the laptop. So glad we were able to buy the Dell!!

This adapter was a perfect replacement for my Vostro 15 3000 laptop. As a bonus it was even longer than the original charger and works much better, as the previous had connection issues when attempting to charge the unit. The price was reasonable and the package was delivered quickly.

The charger works good; however, I am disappointed that Dell sent me the wrong charger. My computer says I need a 65 watt, and I put in my Service Tag # and this is what Dell gave me based on that. I will keep it since I have another Dell that needs a 45 watt.

Barely does the job. When I was on Dell's terrible website I did a search for accessories using the make / model of my laptop. It defaulted to the 45W version and the 60W was buried under all kinds of irrelevant results I've now discovered. I'm not sure why they'd even make two strengths of ac adapters? Anyway, as soon as it arrives, my laptop cautions me that this is not the best adapter for powering my computer. And it's not. It takes years longer than the one that came with my machine. I'm very unhappy with Dell, and their invasive process to even check out and buy an accessory. Now they spam me with useless emails like "features of your accessory" and inside the message are sales pitches that have nothing to do with my purchased accessory. I'd give it one star except it does power my laptop, barely.

LEMON COMPUTER! Charger doesn't work! Other ports constantly break!
The adaptor cord does not fit my computer. It does not make contact with the charger port. I need it because the USB3 charger port is shoddy and breaks constantly. I have to hold the USB3 at an angle to make contact and am in constant danger of the charge running out of my computer if I'm not watching constantly. We had Dell come in and re-solder the USB3 port TWICE! while it was still under warranty. After the second time, the motherboards had to be reset and swapped out because it was refusing to turn on with some four white two red flash signal coming from the power light. Now it is no longer under warranty and I suppose we'll have to pay for fixing the USB3 port. I at least wanted this power cord for use at home and while traveling, but it does not work. Over the last 4 years using this computer, I have spent almost an equal time with a loaner computer and constantly worrying about keeping the chargers and the dock plugged to make contact or spending an hour fiddling and turning it on and off to get the computer to even turn on when I could get power. LEMON!!!

If this power cord is no different than the last 3 I purchased for this laptop, then I give it 6-9 months, tops, before it starts failing to charge, and I have to buy another one. Do better Dell. Your customers notice these sort of things.

The connector of the original adapter got bent slightly somehow, and after years of no problems, finally caused the laptop to complain.

Just like the original, only the cord isn't frayed at the barrel! I like being able to replace using OEM parts which were competitively priced. By the way, although the power cord section of the converter isn't pictured, it is included with the converter.

Power cable had been falling out
This makes the 3rd power cord I have with my laptop. The first one the end broke off. The second one wouldn't take plugged it. Any little movement of the laptop and it would fall off. This 3rd is slightly better. I have to be careful of movement and arrange the cord just right. Let's hope it stays that way

I am very disappointed in this adapter. Printed information led me to believe that it was a more compact ( and would be great, lighter, for travel) but an entirely suitable REPLACEMENT for the standard BRICK AND CORD ADAPTER. Of course, not only is it unable to recharge my Dell lap top, but after two uses, I am not even sure if I can use it as one would a simple power cord, plugged into the wall, while working on a lap top. It is pretty obvious that the lap top does NOT LIKE this weak cord. Stuck in North Carolina. JY

Frayed Power Cords Affect Battery Life
The cords start to fray near the power box within about a year from being wrapped up when changing locations, which then affects battery life. It is best to buy several and leave them in position if you are working with your laptop in multiple locations. I have two: one at work and one at home. I have been doing this the last five or six years for my seven-year-old laptop. My battery life is only good for about 40 minutes nowadays, and the replacement is no longer available for purchase. Way to go Dell!

This power cord does not do its job. My laptop complains that it is not being powered correctly when it is plugged in with this cord. On bootup, I get a separate screen warning me that the computer may run slowly, and it does. Very dissatisfied.

When I went to get my charger replaced, I thought Dell would recommend an exact replacement, instead what I got was an underpowered option... which I guess is ok... but I don't want to compromise the internal battery. I'll be swapping out for the correct wattage.

While the adapter is used with the Dell Latitude 7202 and 7220 Rugged tablets, it does not have the same heat and cold operating ranges to match the rugged tablets, which renders the adapter useless in rugged environments for which the tablets were designed.

Works, but poor design
The adapter works fine, but there are two design problems. The first problem is that the end connector should be a 90 degree connection. If the laptop falls, the straight connection will bend or break. The second design deficiency is that the wire from the power adapter to the laptop should be removable, and replicable without having to purchase the power adapter and 110 volt cord. I've had to replace the entire adapter twice when all that I've needed in both cases was the connector that runs from the adapter to the laptop. I don't think that I'll purchase another Dell laptop unless they redesign the power cord.

Replacement AC Adaptor did not work as recommended for XPS 13
The diameter of the AC adaptor barrel purchased as instructed by Dell sales support for my XPS 13 is 4.5 mm not the 4.9 mm of the original supplied adaptor thus it would not charge properly. I located a used Dell charger from a third party seller with the correct barrel size that does work properly. I had originally attempted to replace my adaptor in early 2023 but was told by Dell sales representatives at the time the original charger may no longer be available due to supply chain issues with the prior manufacturer.

Poor website design for ordering accesories.
Went onto the dell website and orderd the AC Adapter as per the computer model. It never mentioned the Wattage of the adapter. What I got was a 45W charger while my computer model uses a 65W adapter.

Disappointing
Ordered from Dell specifically to make sure the charger is correct. Plug it into Dell Inspirion laptop, get a warning message that the charger is not recognized. It will allow me to power the computer on as long as it is plugged in, but won't charge the battery.

Power Cord doesn't work as per the specification
I bought this power cord for my Dell Inspiron 5559 laptop as suggested by Deloitte customer service support person. The Dell website and the support person suggested that it would work for Inspiron 5559 laptop and it will be compatible for that laptop. After receiving the Power Cord, I tried it with my Inspiron 5559 but it doesn't work. I am really disappointed with this.

45W AC Adapter that you sent us has an oval port connector and our Lap Top model Inspiron 15 55868- 2 Service Tag 7D04XB2 has a circular port connector. Therefore they will not work together.

I bought two of these as backups for the adapter that came with my Inspiron 15 5000, after the long cable on the original adapter was damaged, but still working.
Both of the new adapters require me to play around with the adapter-to-laptop connection (jiggle a little, slide in/slide out in order for them to work - and then sometimes, they'll stop working during a charge.
The original adapter with the damaged cable still works just fine.

My new cord works great! You are probably already aware of this issue, but the reason my original cord stopped working was because a friend used my cord to charge his laptop (also a Dell, but a different version). Because his laptop was not identical, it messed with my cord. My cord still worked, but the adapter was not recognized, so my laptop could not hold a charge and it was really slow.

I did research to receive a quality adapter.

I'm kinda disappointed, because I ordered this charger because the one that came with my laptop didn't work anymore without the cord needing to be laid Just A Certain Way so it could charge. Only to find out that this charger is literally doing the same thing as my old charger - it's brand new but it has to be laid Just A Certain Way or else it won't charge at all. And my old charger didn't get that way until after over a year of use so it's frustrating to have the charger doing this right out the box.

Go with Dell! I had purchased a generic power cord for my Dell laptop which wasn't working very well. The cord was loose in the power port. Although the port needed to be replaced, the repairman suggested I stick with a Dell power cord. Much happier now!

wrong wattage for latitude 3400
it works fine but i got a warning from my laptop the first time i used it that it's not powerful enough, that the laptop requires a 65-watt adapter. i bought from dell specifically so that i'd know i was getting the right one, but the dell site led me astray. that said, it does work, just not optimally. if you're buying for a latitude 3400, get the 65-watt.

Brand new computer needed new power cord and crashed due to motherboard issues and was sent back to Dell. Still have not received laptop back from Dell. This is likely to be my last purchase from Dell and I do no recommend Dell to my friend. I have had a few other Dell computers in the past, in fact my first Windows GUE computer was a Dell. However with the recent purchase I am no longer a Dell fan. Work to change my mind and bring me back as a customer.

Decent adapter at a reasonable value
This adapter is a replacement for my original adapter that came with my computer and recently died on me. Although the construction is superior, the charge time between this adapter and my computer takes a little bit longer than my original one. I was trying to revive it so I could give it to Goodwill so someone who couldn't normally afford one could have it. It has one job and It does the job. Kind of a high price for just a cable, but it's hard to find the right kind of plug for Dell laptops in other stores. I tried a generic one with 6 interchangeable adapter plugs and none of them fit my Dell laptop. Had to return it and get a cable here.

I ordered this replacement because my Dell laptop kept going into battery mode when plugged in. I still have trouble. I took the laptop in for repair to take a look at the charging port itself, which is fine and they were not able to duplicate the issue with their cable. So, this cable is as faulty as the other one, as far as I can see.

Not Strong Enough to Charge Computer During Use
This charger is basically useless because it isn't strong enough to charge the computer while you're using it, only if you're not using it. I don't even understand why this prodcut would be available and have already gotten rid of it.

My computer charger was not lasting a full charge on my Dell laptop it would charge just enough to use the computer for about 45 -1 hour. Went on line on Dell website and found a replacement that works great with my laptop.

My power adaptor was becoming worn out through normal wear and tear, so I tried looking online for a replacement. The numbers had worn off of the device so I was pleasantly surprised when a replacement automatically appeared on my laptop, complete with (presumably) the correct model number of a replacement.
I proceeded with purchasing this "replacement", and I soon received a package in the mail containing the "exact replacement".
After unpacking it and plugging it into my laptop I received a message stating that the 45-watt was incorrect for my laptop and that I should have a 65-watt adapter. The message stated that it would not handle the full duty of a 65-watt unit, so I wrote an email to Dell stating my issue and requesting a return material authorization and a shipping label so I could trade out and receive the CORRECT model. I received no response to this email, and only this request for a review.
No response to my request nor other response.

Replacement Dell 45 watt AC adaptor
This Dell 45 watt AC adapter works well as a permanent power source but just like the original charger I was advised to replace, this one is also not recognised by my Inspiron 15 and still does not charge the battery. The battery has also been replaced as has the power port. All are original Dell parts.

Poor design breaks far too easily.
The biggest weakness of Dell laptops is their apparent inability to design a charger for a *portable* computer that actually holds up to portable use. The charging cord is almost inevitably placed under strain unless the laptop is left stationary, and there's no way to secure the cord so that strain is not placed on the charging port or charging cord. As a result a cord lasts only a few months. To make bad matters far worse, Dell has also designed the cord with a proprietary extra pin which is super delicate and the first thing to break, which will then not allow the laptop to actually charge the battery AND slows the speed to a fraction of its normal speed while plugged in. The intention is to require the use of Dell chargers rather than third party chargers, but again, I have had this problem repeatedly while using Dell chargers -- because the charger is poorly designed and does not hold up to mobile use.

Dell moved our ship date 3 or 4 times for a total of about 3 weeks. So if you are ordering this because you want a spare to have on the shelf for a rainy day , go ahead and order from here but if you need it because the one you have broke/no longer works you should look somewhere else.

Husband's laptop wasn't charging properly, probably because of abuse suffered by the charger cord near where it plugs into the laptop. Not sure why Dell doesn't use a right angle plug instead of one that goes straight in, but that's what we have.

The online suggestion wasn't correct for me.
Went to the website, entered the model and tag number for my laptop and the suggestion was this charger. I get it and my computer stated it was "undersized" should have been a 65W. It still charges, but very slowly and I have to go through a series of windows telling me the issues. Good charger? Im sure it is just not what I needed for my laptop.

It does what it needs to do...charge a laptop. Older model Dell laptop (2018), pretty slow, and battery drains quickly, so I keep the charger plugged in most of time. The original charger was lost, but easily found this replacement based on laptop model on Dell website.

I did receive it on time. I can not tell how good or bad the product until at lest 4 months.
I have been having an issue with such chargers, that they go bad after a use of 3 months or so. I have bought at lest 3 in the last 12 months. so until now, i cant really give you my feed back.
But My concern is why the product did not have Dell logo on it as it used to be?

Only power cord I could find that was actually compatible to my dell Inspiron 15 3567. Any other 45 watt chargers not sold through dell couldn’t completely connect and would give an error message/not charge.

I'm on the 3rd or 4th pwer cord. The problem is that if the laptop is on a table etc when plugged in, the cord hangs down from where it plugs into the laptop. The wires in the cord weaken at that point.

The charging/power cord was reasonably priced and shipped quickly. We bought 2 new Dell laptops about 2yrs ago and not sure why 1 power cord failed but the other one works just fine. I use my laptop a lot more than my wife and we had to share 1 power cord for a couple of months. I bought the new one and gave it to her.

Slightly disappointed in the product. I had to order a new charger due to my previous one snapping due to a fall. I noticed that the connector for the laptop was shorter than my previous charger. I order the same product and did not expect such a difference. With the new charger, any bump is the laptop or charger will dislodge it enough to stop charging. It is more tricky to maintain the charger actually in my laptop.

listed as suitable for my laptop and the plug was compatable but when I started the loptop there was an immediate error message that the charger did not provide enough power to operate the laptop without a simultaneous drain on the battery and I should make a change to the Bios settings to stop receiving the error message. I would not have purchased the charger if I had known this and think it was deceptive to list it as one of the suitable chargers for my laptop

Robot vacuum ate the original charger (damaged cord would power laptop, but would not charge battery) wanted OEM charger for safety / reliability / secure fit. This cord was not the "slim" version that came with XPS laptop, but was less expensive and still does the job. I did end up exchanging for the "slim" version for backpack storage convenience, however I was satisfied with this regardless

I have a Dell computer and this charger to replace the Dell charger that stopped working. I continue to get an error message that this charger is not charger at the 45w that is required. This was the recommended compatible charger on Dells website.

Poor Fit Form and Function !!
Very disappointed. Old power supply power cable failed. Bought new one and expedited shipping. When the new one arrived the friction fit on the computer end was loose and would not charge without inserting and immobilizing via tape.

Does not fit like OEM part
The plug that goes into the laptop does not fit snugly and falls out. I'm not sure what the problem with it is. It does not fit like the original one did.

I was having problems with my laptop not charging, and having to leave it connected to a power source. I had it checked-out, but was told there was nothing wrong with the power adaptor. It kept getting less usage time, so I decided to replace the power adaptor, and WOW! I have my computer back! Thanks for having exactly what I needed, and at a very reasonable price.

Don’t buy from other stores
I had ordered a charger from another store that was not DELL and it allowed my lap top to turn on but not charge up. So I went directly to Dell website typed in my lap top which is a few years old and it showed me which one to order. I am so happy it actually charges and it fit perfect an was longer than the original cord that came with my lap top. The other store charged the same price for a product that was not as good. So glad Dell still had my charger for sale

Power cord - only buy from dell
It’s important to buy the correct power cords for your laptop. It may cost more but it fits correctly and I have no more issues. It may be cheaper elsewhere but you don’t know what you are actually buying and it will cost you more in the long run.

Not sure what to do if you can’t even get a legitimate AC adapter directly from the manufacturer’s website. Laptop kept showing a pre-loading screen message saying it couldn’t determine the wattage and therefore wouldn’t charge the laptop. I have an Inspiron 5567 which is one of the compatible laptops on the list. My original charger has gotten some wire damage but even that stills works fine, so I know it can’t be an issue with the laptop port or motherboard. I wanted a second one to replace the original before it got to a point I really couldn’t use it anymore, but it looks like I’m out of luck and don’t know what I am going to do once my charger does go completely bust, because there is nothing wrong with the laptop to warrant getting a brand new one just to get a charger

Overpriced cord when its designed to have no alternative for consumers!
Dell makes their laptops so there is no alternative but to buy their overpriced cord. On top of that, when the cord becomes damaged, and the laptop cannot determine if its a dell wire, the computer virtually shuts down, even though the power cord is plugged in and supplying the computer with power. It runs at about 25% speed for loading anything, and internet speed, making it virtually useless. Got the new cord, and just because the computer could tell that it was a dell cord, suddenly the whole laptop comes back to life perfectly. Sounds like a bit of a monopoly to me.

Not as slim as it looks - larger cord not shown
When I bought my XPS it came with a power cord that looked just like the one in this picture - slim with two prongs that pivoted out from the back. I loved it but it broke. Every indication would be that this is the same power cord. But what the pictures didn't show is that there is a second, thicker cord that connects to it and has three prongs. It is cumbersome and difficult to store. I returned it.

Ordered this charger because my old one was giving me a message that laptop didn't recognize the power source all of a sudden. This one worked the first time when I used t, but 2 days later, it is not charging the laptop. It indicates as being plugged in, but not charging.

It works. Our 3 week old kitten jumped on my laptop knockimg it to the floor ehere it landed on the power cord jack. Also snapped the inside socket, bring his adoption fee up an additional 260.00 for replacement cord and repair.

STILL Doesnt fit !!
Doesn't fit securely. This is the second time in the past year that I have ordered a new cord. Either the hole in the laptop (Dell Inspirion is too large, or the end of the cord is too small. It wiggles a little and does not fit tightly at all. I do not know which, but it does look like I have a problem here that I will probably need to replace the laptop ?

I have two dell computers and I lost the chargers during a move. This charger does not work well on either computer. When using, it does not charge the battery and will only run while plugged in. It is a loose fit and the computer claims it does not recognize the charger. Very disappointed for the price.
