The Hitachi Virtual Storage Platform Back-end Director is connected to other basic components like front-end directors, global cache modules and virtual storage directors through the Hi-Star-E network. Internal processors along with the front-end and back-end directors share a global cache, which creates a common pool of storage resources and disk capacity.
