Sad Scanner Owner from
Latest firmware is 0.6, not ready for release yet.
I recently bought this primarily to use with its ability to scan to email. After that failed to work, a firmware upgrade later got me a little closer, but still no joy, only vague error messages about losing connection to the mail server. Digging around more, it turns out that apart from not having useful diagnostics, the scanner was silently truncating the email password and sending the wrong (truncated) version. There's no way on the scanner itself to see what the password it has stored really is, so it's hard to find out that it's not what was set by the user. So, I have a scanner that is not fit for purpose: it can only store short passwords, which doesn't work for my email server. If you don't need features such as scan to email you can get a goodscanner for a much lower price.

It does not work! No techsupport over the weekend
OK -- this one is not Plug and Play -- it is Plug and no play
The setup does not work using Windows 10 Pro operating system
It says there is no software available to set up the scanner. Yes I am frustrated
I spend an hour trying to find someone at HP that could help Friday evening and they said the scanner support only works Monday - Friday 8-8 -- I can call back Monday morning
Did anyone ever test this and the software? Apparently something was forgotten..
It looks nice, it just has no software to connect to Windows 10 Pro. What system did they think I would have?
I guess it is a new product - no reviews. I think I may have ordered the wrong produce. But HP helped me find this project --- I talked to the sales group.
No I would not recommend this to anyone. How can they ship and not have software that works? Or technical support. Getting new equipment to work can be frustrating. That is what has happened so far. 24 hours after setup -- pages scanned =0
I don't look forward to spending time with Tech Support on Monday morning. But I have lots of product numbers, serial number, phone numbers, ways to get a human to answer the phone.
The Virtual Assistant is a joke. No chance for help from the Virtual Assistant -- I tried.

Great product
Fast, precise, great quality. I also like that it can be folded up, basically.

NO Linux Support
I bought this scanner directly from the HP store. I could never get it to work with Linux. HP claims on their website that the scanner is supported by the HPLIP library for Linux, but the HPLIP library only works with all-in-one printer-scanners and does not support this scanner. I wasted several days trying to get tech support and got nowhere. I had Fedora developers trying to assist me to no avail. I could never get all of the functions to work. It makes no sense to buy a top-end scanner with duplex capability when you can't get the proprietary drivers to work with Linux. I returned it.

Excellent Product would purchase it again!
Love it. Fast, accurate, only jams on multiple sheet feeder if you forget to remove a staple. Have run through about 600 sheets in a 2 week time with no concerns.

Happy to have a scanner!
Setup was a bit of a problem but I am not a techie and it needed one. Using the product has been great, very easy and once something is scanned you can easily rename file to make lookup easier. I am very satisfied!!
