Advanced Tape improves backup times by utilizing multiple tape drives in parallel, including multiple standalone drives, drives in libraries, or drives in autoloaders. The Advanced Tape Support add-on is licensed per Retrospect host server, not per tape drive. For example, only one Advanced Tape Support add-on license is required for a library with four tape drive mechanisms.
