I agree with BobJake, This products only lasts for a couple of weeks before I have to replace the drum. This product doesn't even deserve 1 star but I'm giving it 1 star because it did work initially with no issues. Being that this is a business and we need to print quite a large number of pages, it is imperative that we have a printer that can last for more than a couple of weeks before having any issues. We have purchased 3 Brother Printers within the last year and have been disapppointed each time. We now have decided to purchase another printer and I can assure you that it won't be a Brother printer.

Disappointingly short-lived drums & cartridges
I've been a Brother customer for a couple decades, but no longer. The drum unit (which is nothing more than a container for a cartridge, no printer science required costs three figures and even with a larger cartridge produces disappointingly few copies, each going out of service in a couple weeks.

LCD Display
Your LCD Display is useless. No matter where I place the all in one, above or below or beside me, I cannot read it. I do have the contrast to the max. Is is that expensive to put a good back light behind the lettering for ease of reading?
Also, the read out is only readable if the person is below the machine since it faces up. Can't you place it facing at an angle on the front of the machine for ease of reading?

Great Printer
I love my printer in just about every respect. My only complaint is that the 'basic' manual doesn't give enough details for operation - - and refers me to the CD-Rom - - but I guess that is today's technology. Anyway, I am very pleased with the printer!

I have had this machine for 2 months, no problems and good quality printing. The toner low message appeared after 480 pages even though the advertised toner capacity is 750. Basic Users Guide is basic, does not even let you know there is a page counter.

Good value
I only use this unit as a printer and scanner. After 600 pages the print quality is very good even on the toner saver mode. Just replaced the toner cartridge, very simple. The scanner has TWAIN drivers which I require and the images are very good. Scanner is not as fast as our other stand alone scanners, but this unit cost half as much as our other scanners and it prints too. The print bypass is only single sheet and a little finicky.

Great price
This is my second Brother All-in-one. My last was a MFC-8840D which has served my home business faithfully for some 8 years. I decided to replace it with the 7360N which seems like a toy compared to my older machine. It seems much slower than the 8840D and I have had a few scanning issues (repeats scan over and over again until I hit job cancel and stop several times. My biggest gripe is the Paperport 12 software that comes with the machine. It is cumbersome, at best, and does not perform as easily as Paperport 9 that came with my old machine. Trying to annotate or edit is a nightmare.
In short, I am sorry that I did not spend more money on a better machine. For limited personal use it may be OK but not for a small business. I highly recommend Brother because of their superior customer service but I can't find very much in a positive way about the 7360-N

Not so good
This was my first Brother printer. I've used HP & Canon prior. This is not a good printer. You can't read the LCD control panel even after you adjust contrast as dark as possible. Printing an envelope is a 15 minute project. When I print anything, my room lights go dim so I can imagine how much power it must be using. I've had to call Customer Service twice and both times were terrible. I will never buy another product from Brother.

An all-in-one that really works well !
I used to repair copiers, so I was pretty skeptical at first of something this small that purports to do so much. I had bought another Brother printer, an HL-2070N, a couple years earlier and had been using it as a home network printer, which worked better than any of another popular brand of printers I'd had before. So it was worth a try, and it too has worked well as a printer, a fairly fast scanner, occasional FAX, and occasional copier. No. it's not made to run a hundred or more copies at a time, but then, I seldom have a need to do that. I don't send a lot of FAXes either, but, it's a nice feature to have when I do need it and it is much quicker and more straight forward than how I used to do that using a computer (especially for hand written forms or notes). I've already recommended this model to a couple friends who were looking for something like this. Brother is one of those less well known companies with a definitely better product.

NOT THE BEST PURCHASE EVER
This printer has many nice features, however, the most irritating of all things is that it curls the paper at both ends.
After having this printer for 4 months and using over 18 toner cartridges and replacing the drum twice, I thought it was the toner cartridge causing this most annoying problem because, it didn't seem to curl the pages for a few toners and a drum. However, I switched the toner cartridge today and, voilla, the pages are still being curled.
What causes this problem and is there a solution for it because, I'm at the end of my rope with this annoying problem. I surely hope someone with knowledge and authority can email me regarding this problem and include a telephone number and name where that person can be reached.

I was fed up with ink jet printers because of how often they dried out, how messy the cartridges were, and how expensive they were. I invested just a bit more in this multi-function machine and it meets all the needs of the family. It's reliable, easy to operate, and the toners last a looooong time. I use the scanner and fax, but 99% of the use is just printing and copying, and it is clear and fast. Love it.

I've always had color printers before even though I rarely actually need color. I have been using Brother print/fax/copy machines for years and always felt like I got good service but seemed to always be buying various colors of ink that I rarely needed.
I found a sale on this MFC-7360N that was black ink only and used the large toner cartridge rather than the multiple tiny ink cartridges. I am saving a bundle on ink and have had NO troubles with the machine!
Highly recommend this product!

Not Really Happy
I find this printer not to be user friendly. The printer doesn't remain 'ready to go' from one day to the next. I generally don't shut down and reboot on a daily basis. If my computer remains on overnight, the printer goes into a 'sleep' mode and will not be available until I shut the computer down and reboot. I have been using a computer since the early 80's and never had this problem before, using several different computers and printers.

It works as promised, is fast, reliable and produces nice quality B&W prints.
The disappointments:
-Management Software is weak
-OCR software is poor
-Inability to send faxes from files on my laptop (or receive to laptop)
Overall, it is a good value and I would recommend it for homes and small offices.

Brother is like a good brother!
I have purchased over the last ten years several Brother fax machines, printers and multi-function machines (both inkjet and laser) for both personal and small business usage. Bottom line: Never had a problem with any of the machines. Even the inexpensive models were reliable. The settings are relatively easy and intuitive and the software (were applicable) is easy to use. You get quality for the price. I always recommend Brother and do not even think about purchasing a different brand. And Brother regulary offers special pricing on all levels of their product line!

4.5 stars overall
I purchased this 7360N for 2 functions, for scanning of documents for work from my home office, and printing. We do minor copying as well. I have owned businesses with medium to large dedicated copiers, scanners, and printers, and I must say I am impressed with this machine. The multifeed tray works well and have had no misfeeds. The printer works very well, as does the copying. The Print setup box for choices works well and is intuitive when looking for extra print options. And finally the networking card has been flawless (after I hardcoded the IP. For scanning, after some minor changes to allow multipage, it works well also. My only complaint is the low toner detector. The low toner indicator came on 2 months after I bought it (and maybe 1000 pages max of printing). I've ignored it, and have printed at least 2000 pages in the past couple of months, and the new toner is still in the box waiting to see how long this goes on..
conclusion: Buy this if you want a rock solid machine with very little setup, and little to no irritability points. It's B&W, so no fuss with color.

Great Purchase
We were using a color inkjet for copying and printing and the cost per page was extreme. Our needs were for a B/W Laser with copying, scanning, and printing. It had to be simple to use, have good quality, multi-page scan and copy and a reasonably small footprint. The Brother MFC-7360N met all of this and to boot was a brainless install. We are very pleased and would purchase it again.

So far, so good
I've been using the MFC-7360N for about 2 months now. I don't use (nor have I set up) the fax as I needed this only for printing, scanning and copying.
The unit was simple to set up, the menus are easy to navigate and the print quality is above average.
My only complaint is having to manually feed labels. I print a lot of labels and it's nearly impossible to get the label sheets to feed evenly.
This is the second Brother all-in-one I've purchased. The first one lasted well beyond it's 'life expectancy' so I didn't hesitate when I needed a replacement.

A Delightful Surprise
Having owned nothing but HP's recently and having to have all of them returned at least once for repair and replacement it was a wonderful surprise to bring home a machine that works as flawlessly as this Brother.
I took my time with the setup and it was worth it because it worked perfectly the first time around. Setup was easy. I've been using it for over a week only and have no problems at all. It is faster than the speed of light (compared to those inkjet printers. I don't know yet how the cost per page is going to work out but I think it will be to my benefit since it doesn't print in color.
The only thing bad that I have to say about it is that after you send or receive a fax or print something there is a very noisy fan that runs for some time. That is annoying but a small price to pay for such a stellar product.

Disappointing
The lid holding the auto document feeder unit has NEVER fit properly, usually slides a little to the left and sometimes right. It is almost a fight for it to line up or close evenly. Worse, in less than 3 months use there are lines whenever the auto document feeder is used. Good luck with legal size paper in the paper tray. All in all this is a VERY disappointing all-in-one product / purchase. One has to wonder if this is indicative of all Brother products~ How can this product be recommended when we need a new all-in-one machine after only 3 months use. This of course is due to the two lines down the center of any page utilizing the automatic document feeder and it is unacceptable to everyone.

Great printer
Update Dec 2012-I am still very happy with this printer-no excessive noise and I am still using the original toner that came with the unit and I print alot. Very happy I purchased this printer.
I read the reviews that this printer is noisy. My friend has this printer in her home office and I have found that it is an excellent and very reliable printer. The toner goes a LONG way and it is extremely easy to replace. As for being noisy. This is not the case at all in my opinion. It stays in sleep mode until you print, scan, fax or copy. Even when it is working it is very minimal and when it is finished it is quiet.
I bought this on sale on black Friday for my personal use and I am very happy with it. I am not sorry to see my color printer go and all the money I have thrown away buying ink cartridges.

I purchased 2 of these printers at the same time. I think they were a great value for the price. They proved to be great in the office for everyday use without any problems. Until the machine needed a utility update. After several attempts to update via the internet it did not work. Printer was off line for a week before It could be repaired by service tech at no cost, it was an inconvience, luckly we had an extra one to take it's place. Other than that I like the printer.

Excellent multi-function purchase
I own and operate(2) MFC-7360N purchased more than 15 months ago. I am using these units with a variety of devices, PC (XP, WIN 7, WIN 8), IOS (IPAD), MAC Pro(Mountain Lion), Raspberry pi (Linux). All features work with all remote devices with the exception being Windows 8 for which you can only print until an updated device driver is provided. I purchased these units with a $50 rebate by turning in an older printer (operational not required) and have been a happy champion of these units ever since.

Good Multi Function printer
Bought to get away from high inkjet expense.
Probably not saving that much as toner cartridges a lot more expensive.
Every new eqpt has its learning curve - complicates life for this home office for a retired guy active in checking out investment possibilities and e-correspondence.
Likes: Very versatile and reasonable quality; like sheet feeder operation
Dislikes or shortcomings: 1. non-illuminated little screen [have to stand up and use flashlight to read]. With all the other versatility a little cheap illumination would greatly improve.
2.Have to rotate machine to access rear door.
Have to reach into slot to retrieve printed copies, rather than sit out where accessible
3. Won't shut off in middle of operation if I made a command error.
4. Early on had a lot of problems getting rid of manual feed default and on to automatic.
5. also many paper jams using regular 20# paper which would often feed in crooked on manual, would curl sides, and printed sheet ripply. Have to use 24# for satisfactory copies - not problem now.
6. Reported paper jams require opening front, removing cartridge, replace and close even when no jam to clear - time nuisance.
7. Occasionally reports not connected to computer when all connections good - have to go thru involved procedure

Great all-in-one printer, highly recommended
This is the second Brother printer for me. I bought it to replace an aging FAX and a flatbed scanner. Overall it takes up less space. The document feeder makes easy work of scanning multiple page documents. Feeding envelopes is easy with the straight through path. Software installation for networked printing was easy and did not interfere with my other Brother color laser printer. Now I have an ideal setup. A color printer for the document pages and the MFC-7360N for envelopes and document scanning.
Toner cartridge is commonly used in FAX machines so it's available in warehouse clubs and multiple stores locally. B/W print quality is what you expect from a laser. Like the fact you can scan a thick book. Not possible on some other brands because the hinges don't rise up.

I've had laser printers and all-in-one printers before, but this is my first all-in-one laser printer. It is replacing an HP Ink-Jet, and so far, at least, I like it better. For one thing, it begins printing faster, much faster.
It's installation was very straightforward and easy, and gave me no problems at all.
I mark it down only because it's default mode for scanning is .jpeg and I much prefer .pdf.
It was only after reading the user's manual that I learned it was possible to switch formats, and in the end, I had to call Tech Support to get talked through the process.
The Tech Support I got was excellent, but even the process of reaching the right person was convoluted due to the automated answering system.
I really think the option of switching formats for scanning should be made more simple and show up in the initial scanning selection process.

Not my choice
This product is not so simple to use. The display is very hard to read and uses to many questions to get the desired result wanted and many times not fulfilling the request. It also does not come with cables to instantly connect to your computer. It constantly fights your phone system and causes noise in communication. However it a convenient black and white copier.

Hard working laser
We have had the MFC-7360N for several months now. We do all our accounting reports and faxing from this machine, as well as quite a bit of copying. It really is a hardworking little beast. Paper very, very rarely jams. Our previous all-in-one jammed at least once a week. When the time comes, we would definitely by another brother~ assuming everything continues as well as it has.

Worst Purchase Ever
In my office there are 2 computers. I had envisioned connecting both to a new Brother computer via a hub, which I had done with 2 other Brother printers.
To my chagrin, I learned that this was impossible.
I had delayed unpacking the printer until the return period had expired.
Anybody want to buy a Brother MFL-7340 ???

Perfect for the needs of my family
My family have used MF-7360N for a year now. Very economical. Best of all, no paper jams. Printing speed is fast. Of course we do not go to the copy shop to do photo copies, scans, and fax. This multifunction is versatile. The space economy is what attracts us to it. The ruggedness is adequately to survive my destructive young boys.

Pretty Good Workhorse
This machine has proven pretty reliable, churning out documents without too many glitches. I was never able to get it to scan wirelessly to my Mac, so I have to hardwire it for that, but it's probably just an operator problem. I definitely am irritated by having to re-set the Sort feature for every copy job. I think it should default to collate, not the other way around, and it's a little hard to read the LED readout in some light, but tolerable. Otherwise, I'm glad I got it.

Dependable printer
Our search for a dependable, fast printer ended when we bought the MFC7360. I am not a techie and am really all thumbs with anything computer connected. But this printer was easy to set up and so far easy to use. It is exceptionally quiet and fast. Much faster than I imagined. If anything it is much more sophisticated than I need for my home use. My concern at the moment is will the printer alert me that it needs a replacement ink cartridge? Right now I am delighted with my purchase. I would recommend it to anyone who wants an efficient, dependable printer that produces a clear product.

Compact and functional; meets our needs.
This Brother laser all in one is replacing an earlier model that needed a new drum. The cost factor was equal to the parts so this was a no brainer.
The machine is easy to set up and use and works seamlessly with my Mac. The toner is expensive but lasts a long time and doesn't dry out like every ink printer I have ever owned.

Great for reducing paper
The fact that I don't have to keep buying printer cartridges is fantastic and economical. Copies are clear and exact. The scanner is very fast and easy to use. I have used the scanner to save all old tax returns and purchase receipts and then shredded the hard copies. Each day the clutter in my office is reduced and I save the files to a disk and on a backup external hard drive. Same with old family photo albums that need dusting and take up space. I'm also saving old family recipes this way and creating folders so I can find them quickly. My laptop on the kitchen bar is a perfect place to always have a favorite recipe on hand. Great for cleaning out the house. Fast and easy to use and the scans are wonderful. I'm an ex-teacher who saved everything. Now it's all getting cleaned out but I can retrieve it as I need to.

GREAT MFC, EXCEPT FOR FAX RECEIVE
VERY DEPENDABLE. I also own a Brother MFC 7440 which is at my other home in FL.
Printing, copying, and scanning are all very straight forward. I like the scanning software much better than other MFC's that I have owned previously.
The only problem is with receiving FAX's automatically. Neither the MFC 7440 or the MFC 7360 allows setting the FAX to answer on more than 4 rings. To use it with an answering machine, it would be nice to set the answering maching to answer on 4 rings and the Fax to answer on 6 rings. I do not want the answering maching to answer on less than 4 rings. Therefore I only use Manual FAX receive.

It's a great machine!
Overall, the machine functions well. It's quick to scan, make copies, and faxes efficiently. The toner and drum are easy to remove. I would say that you should make sure you obtain Brother toner cartridges, however, because the knock-off version I've been using is printing unevenly, it's faded on the left hand side. When I spoke with technical support, they said the machine is only made to print with Brother toner cartridges, so they can't really help with bad quality from a knock-off cartridge. Who knew?!

One fast machine
Good machine w/a couple of problems. I work for title cos. I receive emailed docs which are at least 150 legal or letter pages. I have to baby sit the printing, since at about 50 pages the output jams shutting down my printing, or all pages fall on the floor in an unorganized heap.
Fax page collector is similar. After a few pages, regardless of the "stop" position, the pages go on the floor.
Paper trays are flimsy. I had to purchase a new one.
Otherwise, an excellent, fast and accurate printer.

A Versatile yet Affordable Multifunction Copier
The MFC-736ON is the third Brother product in the printer family that I have bought. My first two were basic monochrome laser printers.
Set up and online registration of the MFC-736ON was simple. Because it is sold without a USB 2.0 cable, be sure to purchase one at the same time you purchase the MFC-736ON. I use mine for light to moderate office work including printing envelopes. I have not used the Fax function with my unit but both the copier and scan functions are fantastic. The onboard software for scanning gives users several options that have rendered the fax function unnecessary for my use. Given the ability to scan documents directly to email has streamlined my workflow greatly. Now the construction materials for the MFC-736ON are not high end and the machine is loud when roused from the Deep Sleep mode. Also the loading and output placement of envelopes is awkward for high volume users. But the low cost and high quality of scans, copies and printed documents make up for those drawbacks. This is a versatile yet affordable Multifuntion copier that has led me to look to upgrade with another Brother MFC (color and legalsize copying ) in the future.

I was hesitant to purchase this unit after reading all the negative reviews, but I was on a limited budget and needed an all-in-one fax/scanner/printer. The Brother MFC-7360N has worked perfectly well for me, never missing a beat. No paper jams, crisp images. good: prints well, but no better than cheaper models. bad: toner cartridge too expensive.. does not use all of it.. shuts off the printer w/toner left - about 25%. does not create the number of copies promised. at times it will continue to print continuous copies of one page even though set to make 1 or 2 which wastes toner and paper. will not scan to send to computer if the toner says it is too low. why is that... a scan does not require toner... the scan and the fax do not operate independently. so why pay for the extra features.. better off to buy a less expensive plain laser printer only.

Works Great - Sometimes???
When the printer was "new", all functions seemed to work exactly as expected - and that was great. Now that it is "older", the functions may or may not work as expected. Frequently have to reload drivers, and that will fix one problem while creating another. After hours and hours of working with the printer and software (following extensive research on the web), I have been unable to resolve the issues to my satisfaction.

Disappointed with this machine
This unit burns through toner cartridges faster than any machine I've owned, I almost never get the number of pages they estimate you should. I print standard documents, not pictures or dark documents.
The fax copy is worse than the old roller type fax machines, I've seen copies of stuff I've faxed and it is dark and difficult to read. Inbound copies are ok.
The positive is it was very easy to set up for scanning and the software that comes with it is very easy to use.
I have had to have this unit replaced once already because of a mechanical failure and lost a new cartridge and drum because of it. I had to buy both again because the failure destroyed them. The ink had only printed around 150 pages.

Good basic laser printer
The printer has worked OK since I purchased it in early January. The pluses are: Low cost, good print quality, fast and relatively compact. The big minus I have with it and a more expensive Brother printer that I returned is the electrical spike it draws at times when your using it. It causes the lights in my room to blink. No other printer I have owned does this. I have it plugged into a 20 amp circuit. So anyone buying this should make sure you have an almost dedicated 20 amp circuit to plug it into.

Not very reliable
This all-in-one laser printer is not as reliable as previous Brother all-in-one printers that I've owned. I bought this one because I own the HL 2240 and it uses the same toner that the MFC 7360N uses. That way, I don't have to buy several different toner cartridges.
Unfortunately, the MFC 7360N broke down after the initial three to four month period. When my staff called the tech support, they were not very helpful. We changed the toner and the drum, and finally the printer would print. However, there is still a very annoying beeping sound every time the printer is printing. We are even using OEM toners!

Almost Great
This is my third Brother MFC (over about 12 years, not a bad track record). This one is by far the quietest and quickest. It produces good looking output, the scanner does well, and the on-top paper feeder seems to feed pages much straighter than on previous models. My one complaint is that the single-sheet feeding process is awkward, really unworkable. To print,, say, an envelope with the address straight and the media unwrinkled, you have to open the back of the printer and have the output shoot out there, rather than the usual output tray. Unless you can put the printer in the middle of a table, will all sides easily accessible, this simply doesn't work, and the envelope comes out crooked and wrinkled. So I use my MFC for the bulk of my B&W printing, and do envelopes on my HP. Fixing the single sheet feeding process would move Brother MFCs from good to sensational.

Exceptional Capabilities
Recently purchased my 7360N to replace a fax machine and a scanner...what a smart move! This 7360N does everything it says it will do and is fast and accurate. Love the way it responds to tasks and immediately wakes from even a 'deep sleep'. Everything about it is a plus and for the price, it can't be beat.

GLad I switched
My hobby requires a load of printing out past performance programs. I have found the MFC-7360n to do as what is promised. The quality of the print is amazing. I have always used inkjet printers and this is the first lasar printer I have ever used. The problem I have is with the industry standards on the amount of pages to be expected to be printed. The standard of 5 percent is way to low for my needs and I would rather have it raised to about 50 percent which would give you a realistic expectaton of the number of pages that can be expected with the toner. I would rather be surprised if I was able to print more than expected than to be surprised to get less.

AWSOME!!!!
For the price, this machine is AWSOME, print speed is fantastic, scanning is fast and simple, The ONLY thing that would make this a better printer is if it printed in color for the same price, maybe next year.

fast, toner is so much cheaper than ink printer's, when enabling to detect the printer when logging in takes too long for me, personally I don't think having this to start up when loading Windows is not necessary.

Brother has a good tech support
I had some issue after upgrade the firmware. Brother tech support helped me to debugger this issue. Since this issue needs service, they schedule me to a local store to fix my issue without charge.
I am much appreciated Brother's help.
I had Brother DCP1000 printer 2003. This printer never has any problem, even it getting old. Since I need a print with network, I update to Brother 7360N from 2011. This 7630N always work properly.
If I need another printer, I will still look for Brother.

its good and bad
the printer is a very good printer, but there are a few issues that make it very frustrating. We print a lot of note-card size envelopes and they do not feed all the way through and we have to lift the scanner bed to get the envelopes out. Also. when the paper comes out, it does not come out

Easy to set-up, all features are easy to utilize.
The only down side is the meager toner cartridge it comes with. Buy a regular or extra capacity toner cartridge when you purchase it.

Worst all in one
This machine is probably fine for home use--do not buy if you have a business and are going to do things like mailings. Imagine doing a several hundred piece mailing and feeding envelopes one at a time. Even with that, there are constant error messages that there is a paper jam--there is not. You just have to open and shut the front of the printer. Very bad investment. I've had this for less than a year and just today ordered an HP which I had before. Called Brother early on to see if there was a way I could trade this in--they were not the least bit helpful--basically said I was stuck with it.

Outstanding Value
After I upgraded to Windows 7, I found out that my Brother DCP 1000 laser printer/scanner/copier that I bought 10 years ago is not supported by
Brother with Windows 7 drivers (because I could no longer print with it). The DCP 1000 had performed well. I found a Brother MFC-7360N on sale for a great price and bought it. I'm very pleased with the MFC-7360N. Just be aware that Brother may not provide drivers after a future Windows OS upgrade; no driver means it will not operate properly on the new OS.

The copies are clear and crisp, the faxes go thru with no issues, and the scans work great. I would recommend the MFC-7360N for anyone needing a home machine.

mfc-7840W was much better
When my 7840W was wiped out by a power surge I replaced it with the 7360N, since the 7840W was no longer available. I immediatly noticed the lack of a LCD backlight! Very inconvenient! Also, the flimsy plastic construction compared to the 7840W. After a few months the machine started making noise, the developer joint link came lose, the toner cartridge stuck in the machine, the machine would not print even with a new cartridge, etc. The dealer I purchased it from said tough...you didn't pay extra for our service agreement!
On the plus side, Brother was very good about arranging an exchange by UPS, since it was still under warrenty. So far the replacement has worked OK.
My advice would be to consider either Borother's extended warrently or one from the dealer as essential, and add the cost to the price when comparisonshopping. I have never needed an extended warrenty before!

Another Good Printer from Brother
When my print server failed, I decided to get a network-ready printer to replace my ten year old Brother printer which worked flawlessly during that time – I still use it as a second printer in my basement. Given that reputation, I decided to stay with Brother. I went with a multifunction printer which also gave me scan and copy functions I could use. This printer also has fax capability, and it has a wired Ethernet connection, but no wireless. I had an Ethernet jack nearby, so I decided not to spend the extra money for a unit with wireless.
The setup of this printer was as exercise in elegance and simplicity. Here’s what you do. Unpack and setup the printer on your network (it can also be connected via USB to a single printer if you prefer). Run the CD on your computer, choose your language, and choose Initial Install. You now have four options:
• Install MFL-Pro Suite (install entire suite and PaperPort SE12)
• Install MFL-Pro Suite without PaperPort
• Install the printer driver only
• Repair MLF-PRO suite
If you choose the first option, it will install everything – PaperPort, printer driver, Control Center 4 (used to control the printer functions from a computer) , and Status Monitor. I choose this option since I use PaperPort. When the installation was done, I was able to print to the printer. It couldn’t have been simpler. I repeated this for two other computers with nary a hitch – splendid. The output quality was good and what you would expect for a laser printer.
The included Control Center 4 is a nice utility that allows scanning to image, OCR, email, or a file. You can also access copy and fax options from this utility. There is a device tab which allows configuring of remote setup, your address book, and device scan settings. It also has a support tab to access Control Center Help, Brother Solutions Center, and the Brother Creative Center. Note that you can, of course, also scan, fax, and copy directly from the printer as well.
You get a 143 page Basic User Guide and a Quick Setup Guide. The user guide covers general information, loading paper and documents, faxing, copying, scanning, maintenance, and troubleshooting. If you want more in-depth information, you can download other manuals, such as the Advanced Users Guide, Software Users Guide, Network Users Guide, and Network Glossary. If there is something you need to know, it is probably contained in one of these documents.
After seeing that the printer worked ok, I tried printing envelopes and Quicken checks using the manual feed, and this worked fine. One gripe I have with printing envelopes is that in addition to opening the back door on the printer, you need to reach in and push two tabs down as well. This may require sliding the printer around so you can see the tabs and then pushing them back up when done.
I have no need of faxing, so I did not setup the fax, and therefore, I cannot really comment on this aspect of the printer. However, the basic manual devotes four out of ten chapters to using the fax. I do not expect you should have any difficulty with this.
Brother has a number of different printers in this category. Research the available information to decide which printer meets your demands. I only had basic needs, and this printer fit the bill. This is another highly recommended printer from Brother.

Great value printer
I have been selectively using Brother products since (maybe 30? years ago. Last year I needed a new printer and bought an MFC-7360N. It is smaller, lighter, improved, more features and cheaper yet. Energy efficient and deep sleep etc. are good even we actually do not measure the consumption, I just do not see any printer activity while unused.
The scanner mechanic takes paper in very very straight compared to my older brother.
I will buy another MFC-7360N any time if I need one. Greatly recommended!

Nice!.... but....
Worked great first day; I hooked it up to our network router via an ethernet cable. Now the next day it lost communication. Since I'm burned out psychologically on any 'phone support', I paid a tech guy to show up and fix it. Problem: the printer needed a static IP address assigned to it! So there you go folks. You have 2 choices: maddening phone support, or a real human being for the same price as the printer. I'll take the 2nd curtain please!

Product Good, software deficient
The MFC is an excellent product. Despite some reports on the blogs, the machine is relatively quiet and it sure is fast! It is relatively compact given the functions it performs.
For those with networks, a word of caution. I could only get the printer to scan using the printer software and not using the buttons/controls on the printer itself. The Brother help center had no solution other than eliminating my network! Ugh!

This printer fan keeps going for a long time after it prints and is distracting. I am having a little trouble with the software, but only in that it doesn't print 2 or 3 copies when I tell it to, but just one at a time. I have a very small business so I don't need much, it does the job. OH, and the initial toner did not last very long, had to refill it sooner than I expected. It that was supposed to be 1/2 of the regular, this may be a short relationship. Initial price was right, sure takes up a lot of room on the desk.

Just ONE glaring persistant problem
Love it. But to SCAN you must REMOVE all the paper from the feed tray. Then after scanning , reload it. My unit sits in a shelf within a corner desk designed for pc's. But the space available does not allow the paper tray to be opened without lifting the unit above the front panel. IT TAKES TWO PEOPLE, to lift the machine, and to remove the paper from the tray.
WHY ON EARTH THERE COULDN'T BE A BUTTON TO PUSH OR A SWITCH TO THROW, I HAVE NO IDEA.
Other than this its a 5 STAR.

I was a very happy Brother printer owner but needed to get one with a Auto Document feeder and scanner.

Great Machine
I was pleasantly surprised with Brother's MFC-7360N. This was the second machine I had purchased, the week I bought it. The other one had very cumbersome set-up, and had other issues right from the factory (it was not a Brother machine. I got the 7360N at the suggestion of the store manager, to replace the other brand (which was a printer only). I found the MFC-7360N to be a much better fit in my network, and much more functional as well. I could not be happier with this machine, I am especially fond of using the scan function for transferring time-sensitive documents into my home office. When I upgrade my network, the MFC-7360N will definitely keep it's place without a doubt.

A Great Printer!
I really like this printer. I was disappointed with the quality of b&w copies from my old inkjet printer/scanner, and tired of paying so much for ink refills. This gives me clear, professional looking print outs, and the cartridge lasts at least 3-4 times longer. I'm a teacher, so I frequently print documents for class use. I've owned this about a year now, and have had no problems with jamming, streaking, etc. It's a great printer, and I'd definitely recommend it!

Everthing I expected and more
This was my first laser printer after five ink jet printers over the years. It has simply exceeded my expectations. I first went to it as a matter of cost of printing but after using it, the quality and speed was nothing that I had previously seen.
The only drawback I had was the cost of the toner. I did go to a online company that makes toner of the quality of OEM products but had one problem with the counter not being reset. I called Brother company and they walked me through a work around to reset the counter so the machine would work with the replacement toner. I have turned others on to this particular model. I am glad to have found it and the company that produces it.

Great Machine, But Uses Too Much Toner
I like the machine. Instructions for Scanning should be included in the owner's manual...
It took quote a while to learn where our scanned documents were going to. We had a lot of difficulty retrieving them...
Also, the toner cartridges do not yield the number of copies they are supposed to... I buy the TN450 - High Yield. Have gone through 4 in 3 months. Average yield is only about 1000 pages. It's supposed to print approximately 2300.

Very Nice!
This machine is very easy to setup and has many functions to it, that a lot of others don't have. It is very fast, and quiet too compared to a lot of laserjets that I've had. When I bought it and brought it home, I didn't realize that the fax was only a 14.4, but the machine is so fast that it really doesn't affect me at all! I highly recommend this machine, and I've had many different four-in-l machines. Lasers and Inkjets, I've had them all! Also, it sets up very easily to work with your home answering machine too, so you only have to have one phone line, and you change pick the three digit code that you want to use. If the phone rings, and you can tell it's a fax, just press the three digit code, and hang up the phone. Then the fax, will receive the fax!

Good, but with some problems
I got this MFC-7360N after having several Brother Printers. I even convinced my neighbor to buy one for her business. For general printing, faxing and copying the unit works great. Some times when printing multiple pages, (100) the print size on line four would be smaller on random pages.
TECH SUPPORT WAS OF NO HELP.
The major issue I have with the printer is the scanning feature. It’s okay for standard black and white or grayscale scanning. But when you scan a photograph even at high dpi, the quality is subpar. Did I mention that TECH SUPPORT WAS OF NO HELP! No one to date can find a fix for this. My seven year old HP-7310 scans the photos much better than the brand new MFC-7360N.
One feature I did like was the ability to scan 40 pages at one time and output it to a pdf file.
My final consensus:
A good practical multi-function printer if you not interested in quality scanning.

A good machine, but--
I do not understand why the machine often displays the message "jam inside," when there is no paper at all in it. This is displayed too many times when I am feeding single sheets--and there are many instances in which it comes up twice in a row.
I agree with other reviewers that the LCD display is not easy to read, and that it is not easy to feed single sheets.
It is faster than my previous printer, especially when printing something such as a map.

Works well
The only negative thing I can say is that the manual feed system is very awkward. One has to pull out the printer in order to move levers in back of the printer where the printed sheet comes out. Also would be nice if one could do front and back copies.

Short term evaluation is that printer is worth more than it cost. I have not used it much but it does everything that I want it to do and done it quickly, easily, and elegantly.
I do have one reservation that I cannot confirm. My computer was infected with malware near time I loaded s/w from setup CD. I suggest only downloading what is needed from CD rather than everything offered.

Great Value
I am about as frugal as they come and I finally figured out that I was wasting a lot of money on ink for our ink jet printer. When the ink jet printer died I began researching laser printers and was amazed at how much cheaper per page printing costs were for a laser printer compared to an ink jet printer. I was also surprised to learn that laser printers could now copy, scan, and fax. My wife and I decided that we could live without a color printer so then we began researching the reviews of various product rating services and found that the this printer was highly rated. We were then blessed to find a fantastic price on this printer at Office Max. The printer is so much faster than our ink jet printer and the print quality is very good as well. I also like the energy saving features on this printer. If you want to save money on ink, want a reliable product, and can live without color then this is the printer for you.

Works well
The black and white laser printer (MFC-7360N) works well. I was pleasantly surprised to discover that the scanner is color. I got a black and white laser because I felt I would save a bundle in colored ink. I still think that. It may be that I have not yet understood the manual, but I have been disappointed that I cannot create a multipage scanned pdf from a bound document without using the document feeder. The workaround is to copy the document and then feed it to the scanner, but that misses any color figures.

I'm happy with the choice I made
I have used Canon all-in-one printers for many years, until the last one began malfunctioning. Considering that Brother had a special promotion at the time of my visit to Staples, I decided to give it a try. I am glad I did for two reasons.
1 - Brother's Customer service was second to none.
2 - The toner and drum are detachable. Thus, I do not have to discsrd my drum when my toner is depleted.

Not compatible with Mac OSX10.9 Maverick
I needed a machine fast! My second two year old popular 'all in one' from another firm bit the dust after only two years.
My Brother Printer MFC7860DW is a gem of a printer that produces excellent results on all functions at a reasonable price - cheap "ink". The problem is that it is in my NY home and I am in Florida.
My new MFC-7360N does not have software and drivers for Maverick in the USA yet, but it is available for Asia. One would think Brother would choose the USA first when updating their software. Now my Florida home is without a functioning printer or Fax. I needed this ASAP for some time sensitive Tax problems. Do I want to ship this back to Amazon? Read the specs carefully!

MFC 7360N
For copying purposes, it is adequate. For printing, the machine is good. For envelope printing, the machine is difficult and frustrating. 7 out of 10 attempts to print envelopes result in a front paper jam in the front load making it necessary to open the front door, clear any jam, and re-insert the envelope. Most times this results in another jam. All attempts have been made to adjust for this, using the back tray, but to no avail. Also, the machine makes the operator "fish" for the printed envelope, in that the machine will not present the finished product for retrieval. Anyone with a larger hand will not be able to retrieve the envelope from the printed material opening. For a person who needs to print multiple envelopes this is not the machine I would advise to purchase.

Good one
Have had for a couple of months now. Bought for inexpensive black & white printing and full auto scanning for multi-pages in color. Much less money than a full color laserjet...and I can use a color inkjet for the little color printing I do. I networked by connecting direct to the router which works for my home office network. Was fairly quick setup and operation is easy. Not completly happy with the scanning program...seems somewhat complex ...Should have a "simple scan and save" option that's easy to find but it's okay. Scans are good. price was right.

Great value!
I bought the MFC-7360N several months ago and am completely satisfied with my purchase. By my reckoning I have almost saved the price in the printer by printing B&W documents on it rather than on my inkjet printer. Toner cartridges aren't cheap but they cost a lot less, per page, than inkjet refills. The MFC-7360N warms up quickly, prints quickly, and goes back into sleep mode without a hitch. Scanning and faxing functions work seamlessly and the apps included with the printer aid productivity with some (web based Creative Center being just plain fun.

I love this laser printer. It was inexpensive. And much better than my previous inkjet printers. Inkjets dry out quickly and you discard unused ink often. This can be expensive in the long run. so the higher cost of the laser printer is still less than the inkjet over time. Also the quality of the MFC-7360N is fantastic. I would highly recommend.

OK BUT YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR
I am a fan of Brother products. I used an MFC-8440 for several years and it performed well.
The principal advantages of the MFC-7360N are that it is much more lightweight than the MFC-8440 and was very inexpensive.
However it has some drawbacks. The most annoying of these is that the LCD screen is so faint as to be almost unreadable and the Menu adjustment to make the text darker does not help much. I actually keep a flashlight close by to illuminate it!
It is also rather slow to start printing, although the print speed is fine.
To sum up, this is a goiod little machine for the price, but some might want to pay more, to at least get a better LCD screen. Fix that and I would give it at least four stars.

This product could be better due to the fact that you not only need to change the toner, but you also need to change the drum periodically. The drums are expensive and combined with the toner, this machine is very expensive to maintain for a small business or home use.

A Great Addition!
I love the ease of making quality copies at home and as a quilter, making dozens of copies of a template for paper piecing is a breeze! Better still is that I'm able to do this without the expense associated with ink jet printing.
Its not often that we need to send a fax, but when we do it couldn't be any easier than it is with this machine.
I also love that I can scan both color and B&W without having to take up space with an extra piece of equipment.
I never thought I'd have the need for one of these but now I would hate to be without it.

I bought this all-in-one laser printer about three months ago, and of all the printers I have had this is certainly the best (but it does not do color). It is fast and the quality of the print is excellent. I do a lot of printing and get a lot of pages per toner (I never figured out exactly how many, but I am satisfied). Also it does a good job of scanning black and white or color documents into PDF files. I have not tried scanning photos, so am unable to comment on that. Would I recommend this product? Definitely!! on a scale of 1 to 10, for me it is a 10.

The product generally works well. It has had very few jams although some of the ones it did have were hard to clear. It has one quirk that does bother me It prints a series of small dots about half an inch in from the right hand margin of the page and about 3 1/2 inches apart. This is alright for minor correspondence but sometimes causes me to reprint a page in a tax return where it has disfigured a number. Other than this peculiarity it is a good workable machine.

I was reluctant to buy such a "small" printer after working with a Sharp for several years but I'm impressed with the performance.
Copies are made quickly and clean, scanning to email is a blessing and super easy to do with this machine. The printing is a bit backwards from the was I use to and a bit more cumbersome for any other than the basic copy but it's easy to learn.
A couple more buttons on the panel would make it quicker and easier, say one for collated copies

Also the screen does not light so you cannot use it in a dark or not well lite place. The fax features could use some improvement. However, for the money it works best than many more expensive comparable all in ones.

printer
I didnt think that anyone would offer a printerthat does not print color. I do like the job it does but would rather have one that prints in color.
My fault I didnt review the fact well enough and it is too difficult to return on line

MFC 7360N
Very nice all-in-1 and good software also. This is my 2nd Brother all-in 1 and I am very happy with it.
The old one just wore out after a long time. This one is half the size does all of the same things and is perfect for me (small office user)

A Great Printer
I love this printer, I use it for business letters and business flyers. It is saving me a ton of money in ink:) I wish it had dual paper trays and was a little easier to print on thicker papers. I would buy this printer again, no doubt about it!!

Great all-in-one
I'm a big Brother printer fan, I really am. This is the 3rd Brother I've owned, and it is even better than the previous units (both of which continue to chug away quite happily at other venues.) For reliability, initial cost, print quality and versatility, I can't imagine a better home-use/light office printer. The 736ON has the advantage over earlier models I've owned with a very handy flat-bed copy feature. Overall, the feed is smooth (hardly ever a jam), print quality great, and support excellent. My only gripe about earlier models was that the replacement drums were almost as expensive as a new machine, unnecessary obsolescence I object to. However, with newer models, both replacement drums and toner cartridges are more reasonable, so your Brother can work for you for many years.

Super Print Quality
I am impressed by the excellent print quality, both from copy or from computer generated Word Processor or Spread Sheet products.

Good purchase
I have used brother printer before that is why I bought this printer. I'm happy and satisfied w/your products. I am encountering some minor problem lately because it sometimes jam especially when I download on line up 5 to 13 copies. I'm still observing it if it will continue to be a problem.

Toner usage??? LESS than a full ream of paper?
I have owned one other Brother laser printer. It was very small and compact. It was AWESOME, so I chose to go with Brother once again. With my old printer, I could print almost 2 CASES of paper before the toner ran out. This Printer has not allowed me to print at all after less than one full REAM of paper! The machine gives and alert signal to replace the toner and even after I take the toner out and shake it, it will not let me do ANYTHING - it just keeps giving me the alert to replace the toner. While it is multi-function, I have not faxed anything, and scanned only one item. I may very well be contacting the purchase location and asking them WHY this is happening, and return it for something I KNOW will let me print MORE pages on!!!

No Complaints
I have been very pleased with the machine. Scans are great, copies are great and printing is easy. No paper jams...ever. Multi copy speed is fine for the money. Never use it for faxing because I use Myfax though email to avoid needing a phone line. Great value.

A good all in one Brother Machine
As the brand name indicates Brother Corporation is one of the genuine companies who make fine electronics products at affordable prices and provide good technical services during the life time of the product.
I bought this multipurpose (FAX SCAN COPY PRINT) laser printer machine (MFC7360N) on 12-23-12. It still works well. It only prints in black and white. Its toner cartridge TN-420 last long time and prints approximately 1200 pages.
This machine works well with HP Pavilion G7 lap top and Asus Transformer T 100 tablet PC. Both are using Windows 8 operating system.
This machine is adaptable to evolving technologies. The company provided fully functional driver software for WINDOWS 8 operating system. It is able to connect to a network router and functions by WIFY connection and with USB connection.
The most important feature is the becoming obsolete FAX function. In the time of ONLINE privacy violations and EMAIL’s having zero privacy, it is good rely on the Fax feature to send confidential documents to associates.
Its scanning feature is convenient with automatic feeder. It scans in color and black and white with high precision of colors. Likewise It can copy multiple sheets through automatic feeder.
The machine is certified as ENERGY STAR – it is very conservative in using electricity and keeps the electric bill low.
Last but not least, the customer service we receive when call for service from trained professional technicians based in the Philippines is exceptional. Without their dedicated service we will not able to adapt the machine to evolving computer system technologies.
The machine is an electronic “brother at your side” as the corporations logo says!

user friendly, fast printing machine! as long as you aren't looking to print in color, this is what you want. seems as though i was buying ink cartridges constantly, paying way too much for them and not lasting any time at all. my daughter owns a flower shop, and she does a great deal of printing checks and invoices, the toner cartridge lasted way beyond a year, and costs less than replacing 3-4 ink cartridges!

Great Value! Great Features!
I was looking for a networkable Multi Function printer that required little effort to set up. Wow was I surprised at how easy this was to get going. I didn't even need to install the software. Windows recognised that I had a networked printer and did everything for me. It took more time to get all the packing material off the printer than it did to get it working. Great product Brother! This was a perfect addition to my Brother Sewing Machine.

This is my second Brother MFC and they are great-user friendly and your support is the best of any company I have ever dealt with. The only suggestion I would make is a tray that holds a full ream of paper.

Never had a lazer before but so far very happy.
I must say that a lazer printer/fax/scanner is bigger than inkjet so my keyboard rests ontop of the above model-I have one of those cabinets.
I miss the color printing for pictures now and then but have another printer in the house.
Otherwise it prints quickly, don't have to extend a piece so that the papers printed don't fall to the floor;-they just come out enough to retrieve; never jams; faxing very fast and message visable stating job is done. Scanning also like any other machine.
The more expensive models have bigger displays and more information about jobs but for average home use just what I need.
All parts easy to reach, pull out etc.
For the price it is a great buy-

Great Printer
I bought this printer soley for the purpose of printing checks to pay some of the bills, but I have to say that this printer has saved me a lot of time when printing and prints in great detail. For a black and white printer I am impressed to say the least.

Great product! Low maintenance! This is my 3rd Brother's product and I have enjoyed the quality, and the low maintenance. My only request would be to allow a trade-in value if you upgrade or downgrade to another Brother's product.

Great Office Tool
I use this at a Small Retail Shop (Pool Supply Store).
Good Priced machine that does what i need it to.
I send a lot of Faxes, and it always works great.
I also do a lot of coping with it, it seems like the toner cart. last around 6months, after you get the low ink displayed I can usually get about another month out of it before needing to be replaced.
I've used ink jets in the past, and ink always went fast, the toner on this machine is a better compromise, No color just black and white, only minor drawback.

Problem fixed
This is my third purchasae of this item. First two installed at different locations and are working very well.
The third one had problems right out of the boxd, but Brother immediately sent to me a replacement that is working very well.
Would reccomend this printer. Good software and performance. Only problem is that it comes with a starter toner cartridge.
