What is our primary use case? I have been working in the PAM space for the eighteenth year. All the PAM solutions have common use cases such as Privileged password management. PAM is divided into three categories: Privileged identity management, endpoint privilege manager for endpoint privilege management, and secret management for DevOps secret measures. What is most valuable? Secret management is currently a top priority for any PAM tool, with a shift from on-premises solutions to cloud-based solutions. The Cloud Identity Manager and tools related to the CI/CD pipeline are being largely adopted. The priority for major OEMs is now cloud-based solutions, ensuring security and efficiency. What needs improvement? I would have been really happy if Delinea were evolving or innovating like CyberArk. CyberArk sets the trend, and other OEMs follow it. Delinea needs to innovate more to match the changing needs of the market. For how long have I used the solution? PAM technology evolves every six months or a year. What do I think about the stability of the solution? Delinea is considered robust and straightforward compared to CyberArk. CyberArk is a market leader, but Delinea provides a robust solution with fewer installations. How are customer service and support? Delinea has very good support, rating them an eight or nine out of ten. Compared to other tools, their support is commendable. Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch? With the merging of Thycotic and Centrify into Delinea, it has combined strengths of both products into a single package. Thycotic was strong in certain areas and Centrify in others, and now Delinea integrates these features. I have experience with solutions like CyberArk, BeyondTrust, and Delinea. CyberArk, Delinea, and BeyondTrust are pushing onto cloud-based solutions. What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing? The difference in license cost is minimal, with CyberArk being slightly costly due to its market-leading position. The difference is in the range of a few hundred dollars. What other advice do I have? I cannot sideline with any one tool as it depends on what my customer values. If my customer believes CyberArk is good, then I agree with them. Adaptation to customer needs is essential. Disclaimer: My company has a business relationship with this vendor other than being a customer:partner
What is our primary use case? The solution is used for privileged access control. It is used to provide controlled access to the SREs and data center administrators to access the target environment. Instead of logging directly to a server, they must go through Delinea. It helps control who is logging into which server and what privileges they have. What is most valuable? The solution provides secure access to environments. We can decide who can access the environment and what privileges they should have. The controls and checks are enabled in Delinea before a person logs into a target environment. We use custom rules and put them across different secrets. We can create multiple secrets and map users into secrets. The solution is integrated into an Azure AD system. We define the security policies within the AD system. The policies are authenticated through the AD system but authorized through Delinea to log in to the target environment. When the users go through AD, there is a two-factor authentication. There is one more layer of authentication when they go through Delinea. We implement workflow-based auto approval. Personas cannot log into a targeted server with the configuration item or secret name alone. To access the target environment, a person must have a valid ticket in the ticketing system, and the ticket must be under their name. The ticket should be active and should not be a closed ticket. Such rules are enabled using the PAM capabilities very effectively to bring more controls and checks within the target environment. Monitoring features are similar to recording sessions. Recordings can be enabled only for targeted and critical systems. Only the secured critical configuration items would be enabled with the recording. The recordings are automated to deliver details of who accessed the environment, what incident or service request they accessed, the activity they did, and the commands they executed. These details are generated as a report and can be sent directly to the customers. What needs improvement? It is difficult to integrate the product with other IT systems. We must contact professional service support. We do not have any control over it since it is a SaaS solution. We must go through Delinea’s PS team for all the integrations. We provide the requirements, the thought process, and the ideology of the workflow. However, it can be executed only by the PS team because we don't have any control or access to the application. As a SaaS consumer, I cannot do any custom scripting into the application. The PS team does all the customizations we require. The solution must improve the technical support. For how long have I used the solution? I have been using the solution for three years. How are customer service and support? The support team must be more mature. When we log a ticket for some issue, by the time the support personnel resolve the issue, we get the issue fixed ourselves. It is fixed automatically, or we identify the problem and get it fixed. We fix 50% to 60% of our issues ourselves. We rarely fall back on the support team. The support must be improved. How would you rate customer service and support? Neutral What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing? The pricing is moderate. The product is not expensive compared to CyberArk. Which other solutions did I evaluate? I have evaluated BeyondTrust and CyberArk. Delinea is very cost-effective compared to CyberArk. That is why most customers are moving out of CyberArk and choosing Delinea. Delinea provides capabilities similar to CyberArk and goes beyond it. Delinea recently launched quantum security. It is getting better from a product standpoint. What other advice do I have? I work for multiple customers using the same tool and multi-tenancy capabilities. I will recommend the solution to others. Overall, I rate the tool a ten out of ten. What is our primary use case? I used Delinea Privileged Access Service in a trial environment where I had some endpoints, devices, and servers. I created some privileged accounts and onboarded them with the help of Delinea Privileged Access Service. I tried product features attached to the login area, monitored some recorded sessions, and saw that everything worked properly. What needs improvement? With Delinea Privileged Access Service, when installing the identity connectors to configure with AD, the configuration was not happening properly. The aforementioned area in the product can be considered for improvement. Compared to CyberArk, Delinea Privileged Access Service should work in the documentation area since I remember that when I wanted to troubleshoot some issues, I couldn't find any forums. I couldn't configure the identity connector properly, so there should be some forums. For how long have I used the solution? I have been using Delinea Privileged Access Service for two months. I used the product to test for two months in our organization. What do I think about the stability of the solution? It is a stable solution. I haven't faced any issues with the solution. Stability-wise, I rate the solution a six out of ten. What do I think about the scalability of the solution? Scalability-wise, I rate the solution a four or five out of ten. There is a certain limit when we consider the scalability, especially when a SaaS-based service on the cloud is taken into consideration because there are sixteen thousand, like, sixteen thousand secret servers that can be used. There were two people in one of the teams in our company who used to use the product. How are customer service and support? Though I tried to reach out to the support team via email, I did not get any response from them. How was the initial setup? I rate the product's initial setup phase a three on a scale of one to ten, where one is an easy setup phase, and ten is a difficult setup phase. The setup was a bit complex. The overall configuration is not very complex, but it has a certain level of complexity. The solution's deployment didn't take that long since I got the deployment file on request, and it takes a day for the connectors and all. Though I did the tool's configuration, there was another team in our company that was using the services of the tool. What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing? The price is cheap if I compare Delinea Privileged Access Service with other products. From an improvement perspective, the price of the product needs to be made cheaper. I rate the product price a seven out of ten. The solution is suitable for mid-sized companies. I am not sure whether the solution is capable of globally expandable businesses. What other advice do I have? Delinea Privileged Access Service was a helpful product for company compliance and audit processes, but its cost was not favorable. Delinea Privileged Access Service's UI part was very user-friendly for secure credential storage and management. The product had a clean UI. Delinea Privileged Access Service's functionalities were similar to the ones provided by CyberArk. Delinea Privileged Access Service's UI is easy to operate compared to other products. The monitoring and recording capabilities of Delinea Privileged Access Service have been valuable since when users log in to any of the servers using the credentials, the overall system gets recorded with the tool, and we can see that recording in our company. I rate the overall tool a seven out of ten. Disclaimer: I am a real user, and this review is based on my own experience and opinions.
What is our primary use case? We work with the on-prem version of the product because the cloud version is blocked here in Morocco. What is most valuable? The solution is flexible. This means we have many functionalities we can show to the end user. And though the solution is somewhat expensive, when we show the functionalities to the end user, they get the necessary budget for the product. What needs improvement? The pricing and presence could be improved. Moreover, The problem with integration is that not too many people have certification from Delinea, which can be a problem for sales development. Delinea should push their certification or give some courses for free to drive their products. For how long have I used the solution? We have worked with the solution for more than three or four years. We are dealing with the latest version. What do I think about the stability of the solution? I rate Delinea Privileged Access Service's stability an eight out of ten. What do I think about the scalability of the solution? I rate Delinea Privileged Access Service's scalability a seven or eight out of ten because when we scale, sometimes the scaling depends on the resources. We have between ten and 20 organizations using Delinea. It's not that many. We deal with small and medium organizations. How was the initial setup? The time taken to set up the solution depends on the scope of the client. It might take one week, maybe two or three days, but it takes two weeks at the maximum. What about the implementation team? We handle the maintenance of the solution. We have five engineers in our maintenance team. What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing? The solution is priced too high, so I rate its pricing a nine out of ten. What other advice do I have? I recommend Delinea Privileged Access Service and rate it a seven out of ten. Which deployment model are you using for this solution? On-premises Disclaimer: My company has a business relationship with this vendor other than being a customer:
What is our primary use case? The solution makes it easy to securely manage passwords. All of our tech, all of our servers, and everything globally are managed, so our techs do not have access to the passwords; the server does. How has it helped my organization? There are benefits in the security realm. We use Delinea at an enterprise level. I imagine there are productivity gains, but moreover, it's the security. We don’t enable staff to see the passwords of boxes but it's all being tracked and logged now. What needs improvement? I'm not close enough to the platform to fully comment on that, so it's difficult to say, but I have not heard any complaints from my team anyway. Although, I would like for there to be a suitable solution to deploy a low-spec version for desktop password management to all our staff. For how long have I used the solution? I have been using this solution for about three to four years. What do I think about the stability of the solution? Its stability is also really good; nothing has gone wrong yet. What do I think about the scalability of the solution? It is a very scalable product. That’s why we’re using it. We have over 2000 accounts on it or more – and we’re not stopping there. I would rate its stability a ten out of ten. We are somewhere at 80% usage for this product and also plan to expand its further usage. Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch? We have a huge staff that doesn’t cover them because they’re just regular users. But most regular users probably have 10 to 15 passwords in their corporate life and probably double that in their personal life. Because of what happened to LastPass last year, the significant security incidents made us reconsider our options because we needed to cover our enterprise and administration tech for our staff and regular users. We got Delinea for all of it, where most users save 10 to 15 passwords in their corporate life and probably double that in their personal life. How was the initial setup? The initial setup was pretty straightforward. Which other solutions did I evaluate? We have a handful of products like Bitwarden and LastPass. Our organization has recently taken a closer look at password managers, given the focus because of what happened to LastPass. So it's just something that we looked at this year to see what options there are around, and we got Delinea PAS to cover our enterprise and administration tech. What other advice do I have? You won’t regret investing in this product. I would give the product a ten out of ten. Which deployment model are you using for this solution? On-premises Disclaimer: I am a real user, and this review is based on my own experience and opinions.
What is our primary use case? We primarily use this solution to utilize local IDs and fix up specific endpoints. In addition, we use the solution to identify the people using our service accounts and how they use them. What is most valuable? The most valuable feature is the author's discovery of assets because it helps keep track of inventory. Currently, our inventory is managed manually, so the author discovery feature is beneficial. What needs improvement? There needs to be a notification when a password is near expiration because we have experienced multiple lockouts due to expired passwords. For how long have I used the solution? We purchased the most recent version of Delinea Privileged Access Service recently and began using it in 2022. It is deployed on-premises. What do I think about the stability of the solution? It is a stable solution. What do I think about the scalability of the solution? We believe the solution is scalable to an extent. However, its scalability depends on the server size. How are customer service and support? We have had no problems with the support team. They get back to us within the agreed timeframe. How was the initial setup? We had challenges during setup because it was deployed on-premises, and our system needed to adjust to the compatibility. Additionally, we were not expecting the storage to take up a lot of space at the onset, but we have made the necessary adjustments. What about the implementation team? We implemented the tool through our vendor and in-house engineers. What other advice do I have? I rate this solution an eight out of ten. My advice to others who are looking to start using this tool is to select the cloud version. Which deployment model are you using for this solution? On-premises Disclaimer: I am a real user, and this review is based on my own experience and opinions.
What is our primary use case? This product is primarily used for Privileged Access Management and Identity Access Management. You can manage all of your service accounts through Delinea. For example, if you start services on Windows, you can manage that using this solution. It provides remote logins whereby everyone can log in safely while remote, so it's a work-from-home solution as well. What is most valuable? The most valuable feature is auditing. That's a big plus. The Privileged Credential Management feature is a password vault and they integrate with a lot of other vendors. The integration with other vendors is another big plus. The reporting is excellent. What needs improvement? Although the interface is intuitive, it could be a little more user-friendly. For how long have I used the solution? I have been working with Delinea Privileged Access Service for five years. What do I think about the stability of the solution? The stability and performance are excellent. As an example, if you run into problems with authentication then you can just create a new connector. That said, it's very stable. You can theoretically leave it to run on it's own for months but that's obviously not the idea because you need to check if there are any breaches or any other issues in your environment. What do I think about the scalability of the solution? This product is easy to scale. Once you've set it up and everything is installed correctly, you can just plug in new systems and new environments. It can scale to thousands of servers quite easily. Delinea is suitable for any size of company, from small to large. How are customer service and support? Their technical support is very good. If you run into problems with the deployment, for example, then they will help you with that. Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch? I have experience with a few privileged access service solutions. One of them is CyberArk, although I haven't worked with it enough to say whether it's good or bad. The main reason we chose Delinea is the ease of implementation. Initially, it's a lot of hard work, but then it's easy to work with and maintain. Once it's running, you can hand it over to someone whose job it is just to check the environment. They don't need to monitor the systems to ensure that Delinea is running properly. How was the initial setup? As a security solution that accesses Active Directory, it's a complicated implementation process. For instance, this isn't something that you can do in five minutes. You have to do your homework and plan everything. However, if you plan everything well, then there aren't any major issues. To get the system up and running, it's less than a week. You can download and install the software in five hours, but then comes the customization and configuring of the portal. Everything has to be done correctly. I'd say that after two days, you can start playing with everything. What about the implementation team? For the most part, our deployment was done internally. With some of our issues, we had used the vendor. They provide manuals and the support is excellent, but most of the stuff, you can do yourself. There is also a little bit of maintenance that you have to do. It is a cloud-based system but there are still underlying software applications installed in your servers that you have to maintain to make sure are working properly. I am the only person that works on it in the company. What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing? The price of this solution has come down quite a bit. Now that they have merged with Thycotic, the Thycotic Secret Server also comes included in the package. The product comes at a very good price and it's quite competitive, although you need to buy add-ons for certain things. Being in Africa, the cost is always an issue for our customers. This is one of the reasons that we recommend Delinea to them. What other advice do I have? I am not quite on the most recent version. However, I am busy upgrading so I soon will be. It is difficult for me to think about what new features I would like to see because usually when we think of something that's missing, they assist us in getting it fixed. There are a lot of features. For example, they have an API available, although I don't understand very much about it. My advice for anybody who is looking to implement this product is to, first of all, check if it's a correct fit for you. Then, do your planning. Plan for all of the contingencies and then it should be fine. But again, if you run into problems, support is there to help you. I would rate this solution a ten out of ten. Which deployment model are you using for this solution? Public Cloud If public cloud, private cloud, or hybrid cloud, which cloud provider do you use? What is our primary use case? This solution manages privileged access for all of our privileged accounts. What is most valuable? This is a cloud-based application, which makes it very easy to deploy. What needs improvement? This solution needs better integration with third-party solutions because their ability to support other tools is very weak. Other companies have invested very heavily in third-party tools and Centrify does support them well. In the future, I would like to see support for containerization, CICD pipelines, and software-defined infrastructure. This is going to be critical and it is where this solution lags behind the competitors. For how long have I used the solution? I have been using Centrify for the past four and a half years. What do I think about the stability of the solution? We have had no issues in terms of stability. What do I think about the scalability of the solution? Being a SaaS platform, it is easy to scale. How are customer service and technical support? The technical support is quite good. When I was implementing this solution, they were able to assist me and did a good job. How was the initial setup? Setting up the product is quite straightforward. However, migrating services and applications to it are always complicated because of the problems that you have with the applications. What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing? The price model is based on the number of devices and opposed to the number of users, and it is not very flexible. This means that if an organization is growing from an infrastructure perspective then the cost can escalate. What other advice do I have? The suitability of this solution depends on the environment because every organization is different. If somebody is looking for a straightforward PAM that is easy to deploy then I would recommend Centrify. If on the other hand, they have a more advanced or more complex environment with a software-defined infrastructure then I would suggest they use another solution. I would rate this solution a six out of ten. Which deployment model are you using for this solution?
