I bought a laser printer after fighting several ink jet printers and cartridges which always seemed to clog (I don't use a printer that much). The laser printer and toners cost more initially but without the hassles of an inkjet this printer setup is a god send (love it).

Not a good printer or ink situation
I had to replace the printer that goes with this cartridge twice. The ink is incredibly expensive & you cant get the generic refills anywhere. The cost of the ink alone makes this printer way too expensive and its unreliable to begin with. I would stay far away.

The ink is great, if it is ever in stock. I have tried to get it several times over the past year and it is never in stock. Even the basic colours like black. I would have seriously reconsidered purchasing the printer if I have known of this problem with the management of the supplies.

It's my understanding that Dell no longer sells printers, and the toner will o longer be available once the inventory is gone. If true, I'm disappointed. This is my third Dell printer, and every one has been more than satisfactory. I've only stopped using the first 2 because they were old enough that the toner was no longer available.

I purchased my multifunction laser printer in August 2011 for my small business. I have yet to reach 1000 pages on my black toner cartridge which advertises 2000 pages. This toner is quite expensive before factoring in you yield half as much as advertised. I wish I had an alternative to Dell's overpriced toner.

How to get double the life from your Dell toner with one checkbox
These toner cartridges have a chip in them that, supposedly, measures how much toner is left and then blocks you from printing when the toner is "empty". The problem: the chip is completely wrong. I don't know if it uses a rule of thumb calculation or counts pages or whatever, but there is always LOTS of toner left when it stops you from printing.
What to do? The "fix" is to use the little-known function in the configuration menu for the printer that bypasses the chip in the toner cartridge and allows you to continue printing.
In the Dell 1355cnw printer the setting is in the menu under "Printer Settings" / "Printer Maintenance" / "non-Dell toner". Check the box for that setting and save your settings. It works even though you actually are using Dell toner.
What happens is that the printer then ignores the info from the chip in the toner cartridges, which is wildly wrong.
I've had my printer for several years. The black toner cartridge said it was "empty" maybe 6-month after buying the printer. I marked this box and continued printing another *11 MONTHS* before the black started to look a little bit more grey. Then I replaced it.
Same thing for the color cartridges. They said they were "empty" for more than a year while I continued to use them and print brilliant, perfect color pages. I found no difference between prints when the chips said they were "empty" and when I bypassed the function for hundreds of more color prints.
Downside: the little fuel gauges that show how full your toner cartridges are is blanked out and doesn't show anything. Considering that it is basically worthless to begin with, I'm not sure this is a downside.
Upside: I've gotten excellent life from these cartridges when I'm allowed to run them down to what us ordinary citizens consider to be "empty". They work perfectly all they way to the end and don't slowly fade over a long period of time.
Try this and you will be MUCH happier with your printer, you will be satisfied using Dell brand toner and not be tempted to use some off-brand refills to save money.

It is difficult to give the product any other rating because as with all printers the cartridge is built only for that printer. Further, Dell cartridges are unavailable from any other source. I think the price of any cartridge is much too high.

Be it ink jet or laser, or the new LED printers, the consumables will always be very expensive. They all sell the printers at a giveaway price and make it up on inks and toners.
I love the quality produced by this Dell 1350 printer and the delivery speed of this ink is 2nd to none.

Ahh, fresh toner
Use the Dell 1355cn for my remote office and had some difficulty finding toner locally. Even Staples, authorized for Dell doesn't carry.
My IT group suggested I go through Amazon or Dell - and I found Dell.com to be the competitive and certified new product choice.
This black toner will give you more bang for the buck and save resources since it's less waste. I recommend for your use, but plan ahead so you're not empty for a week (before ordering like I was.
On the down side - there doesn't appear to be a very big price break through Dell.com- so I will replenish each toner color as needed versus the spendy multi-pack. Also selected UPS for shipping, and they consider this special handling, so had to be home to sign and ended up driving to center across town to pick it up - be advised before you require signature.

I ordered the four cartridges I need, one of each color. They used to come packaged together, but apparently no longer do. It created lots of recycling material and lots of emails to have four of these cartridges coming at once, but in separate packaging.
And by the way, you could make it easier to recycle the cartridges (it couldn't have been more complicated. )

Easily ordered online and delivered within a couple days. I recommend ordering as soon as your printer tells you your current toner is reaching the end of its life. Prior to this, I waited until the Yellow toner was completely out and couldn't print anything at all until the new one was installed.

Absolutely awful experience. I ordered & paid for the delivery of yellow, cyan, & black toners, all of which were to be shipped in one package. The black toner was not included in the package. I contacted Dell about this, & they denied my request for delivery of the missing black cartridge & claim the black toner was indeed shipped. It wasn't. In the past 14 years, I've purchased two Dell printers, one laptop, one 27" 4K monitor, & have spent thousands of dollars on multiple toner orders. I've never disputed an order until now, & Dell is refusing to cooperate. What an awful way to treat a long term Dell customer with a proven track record of loyalty & investment!!

Plug and play. Yes there are what seems to be cheaper options out there but my experience is it may or may not work and ALWAYS they never produce the page count stated. I believe you get what you pay for. The only complaint is I bought it counting on the delivery date stated but it was shipped out late.
