The PV400USB 400W PowerVerter Ultra-Compact Car Inverter provides 400 watts of portable power for charging and operating multiple devices in your car, truck, boat or RV. It converts 12V DC power into standard 120V AC power to run a wide variety of electronics, such as laptops, smartphones, tablets, game systems, portable TVs and DVD players, MP3 players and GPS units, as well as low-power lights, camping accessories, battery rechargers for small battery-operated power tools and mobile office equipment. The PV400USB features two AC outlets, a 2.1A USB port and a 1.0A USB port. Just plug the DC input jack with convenient 3-foot cord into the 12V cigarette lighter socket in your vehicle, press the on/off button, and the unit is ready to operate. Easy-to-read LED lets you know the inverter is receiving power from the battery. To prevent you from running down your car battery, the PV400USB turns off automatically when the input voltage falls to 10V. Likewise, the unit will also shut down if it gets too hot (for instance, because your connected devices exceed 400 watts). A built-in ventilation fan keeps the interior cool during extended use. The durable plastic housing is engineered to withstand the rigors of road trips, campouts, business trips and family vacations. No maintenance is required.

Excellent unit. Quiet, cool, powerful. A little clumsy with the external wiring posts. Insertable wires would have been better, but this is a minor criticism. I had my Dell Precision laptop running for hours, and it never got hot. The laptop power brick got warm (expected.

I was told the 400 watt output was available through the cigarette plug. No. Only through the hard wire to the battery. Very disappointed

I would buy this product again and again
The product was easy to use and simple to set up. When it was set up it worked as described and provided all of the power my kids needed to run 2 computer at the same time in the back seat of my car for 20 hours. Can't recommend this product more!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Attention RV'ers!we bought the pl400usb to keep our tablets charged while using google maps gps while traveling in the motorhome. we found it has multiple uses also. this unit will blow up the sleep number bed we use in our towed vehicle for an over nighter. we can leave the mh in our spot on the south rim of the GC, and visit the north rim overnight! Very Happy Campers.

It is very durable and although I do not have many hours of use with it, the inverter seems to work quite well.
