As promised
Works as advertised. Won't take paper stack that would jam the shredder. Does stop when hands are too close. Let my granddaughters shred without any worries. Fast shredding. Only drawback is that some of the cut paper ends up outside of the bin. Just extra clean up, not bad though. Comes with bags and oil.

Good but some improvements needed
I have a lot of experience with shredders that I have used in my home office. I have to do that because of my type of business where I use a lot of paper and to protect confidentiality of my clients and myself. Main problem is the constant message that the bin is full even if it is not. Paper tends to pack on one side of the bin and then you have to reach into the tray and push the paper at the bottom. This creates some dust. Also it could cut a bit smaller.

A solid tool
This shredder handles the paper well, though not as quietly as I expected, given the description. (The old GBC shredder we still use has a quieter, more even sound, compared to the somewhat choppy sound of this new unit.) I am oiling it when we empty the bin, but the sound has not diminished.
I recommend turning the unit off when emptying the full bin, or slightly opening it to level out the not-yet-really-full shredded contents. If left on "auto," any paper that hadn't finished shredding will rain down as the bin and bag are removed, leaving a mess to clean up each time.
As for design, some way to better hook the bag inside would be an improvement. A few printed words in the manual or packaging about the intent for the wing-nut screws and the placement of the CD basked would be helpful. Overall, the unit does the job we need and hopefully will do so for a long time!

Great heavy duty shredder
If you are looking for a shredder that can handle the job without breaking the bank, look no further. This unit can handle the largest of jobs and has a great capacity bin. It is not a unit to stick under a desk as it is quite large however nothing this powerful comes in a small package. It will not jam and makes sure you can't jam it. It is a quality product that I would definitely buy again.

Overall this is a good shredder. I'm not sure that it could really handle up to 18 pages. It seems to struggle with just a few pages. Also, you really have to stuff the paper in to get the machine to turn on. It often times seems a little tempermental.

Dissatisfied
We're on our fourth warranty-replacement. The "Bin Full" sensor consistently fails. The "manual" is totally inadequate. Even when using the proprietary expendables - oil, bags - the machine simply does not work. We absolutely have to have a cross-cut shredder. It's nearly impossible to get one as we are on a remote island in the middle of the Pacific.

Not Worth It!
Purchased in Sep 2010 for home business. In Jan 2011, auto start/stop feature stopped working. In July 2011 jamming became a daily experience. In Aug 2011 shredder started making grinding noises; attempting to get service people to evaluate shredder.
Smaller under desk personal shredder lasted 8 years and though a little louder had a better cost to benefit ratio.

Mine was so dependable another office ordered one!
My Fellowes 125Ci shredder is a replacement for a C120C. The old one has been in steady heavy use for 9 years! (Only one trip to the repair shop in all that time.) We had gone through several other brands and none had lasted much longer than a year. We are a county government office and we need a reliable secure shredder. Another office sometimes brought some of their documents for us to shred. I told them that I was ordering a replacement finally, and they ordered one too! You have delivered a budget friendly workhorse.

A messy shredder that can shred
I haven't had any problems with my shredder shredding. It does what it says it will do. It is, however, a very messy shredder. When I pull out the bin, paper shreds that are hanging down from the shredder are dislodged, falling on the floor and the base of the shredder (see attached#. The shred bin liners do not stay in place #see attached image#, so shredded paper ends up at the bottom of the bin. What's more, static electricity keeps shreds attached to the outside of the bin #see attached image.) Finally, when pulling out the bin, shreds fall onto the floor, requiring a sweeping job.

So far so good
My last Fellowes shredder 120-C2 was commercial grade and pretty good, but after a few years started having repeated jams despite good maintenance. The 125Ci definitely will shred a slightly thicker stack without jams. Long term performance remains to be seen. The biggest downside is you really have to press the paper deep into the slot to trigger the feed mechanism. Sometimes it requires both hands to keep the stack from spreading apart at the bottom and not feeding in straight.

My Second (and Upgraded) Shredder
I owned a Fellowes shredder for a little over two years, and I "ran it hard in the fast lane." I do a mountainous amount of shredding for both personal and business applications, and I LOVE to sit down on Saturday mornings, watch an episode or two of a favorite recorded TV show...and shred...and shred...and shred.
When I decided to get a larger, more heavy-duty shredder, I knew it would just be an upgraded Fellowes model.

I've had no problems with this shredder in the two months it has been in operation in my home business. I like the desktop height, which means no bending over as with smaller units. It's more expensive that the wastebasket-sized units, but having owned 3 shredders before this one, I recommend the old advice: buy your second (or third) shredder first.

Quality Product...Delivers Superior Performance
The Fellowes C-120Ci 100% Jam Proof Cross-Cut Shredder is a fantastic shredder for our office. The previous shredder we had was very slow and would jam up frequently. When it was time to replace it, we chose to upgrade. After pouring over numerous reviews for cross-cut shredders, we chose to go with the Fellowes C-120Ci, and we have not been disappointed! This particular shredder not only shreds documents quickly and thoroughly, it has not stalled or jammed up once in the four months since it was purchased. It is very easy and safe to operate, and the energy saving feature is a nice addition. The slim housing unit of the shredder makes for a good fit into a small corner of our office. The large capacity shredder bin, which conveniently holds shredder bags, does not have to be emptied nearly as often as our previous shredder required. This shredder may be a bit more expensive than the usual run-of-the mill shredders, but it is a high quality product that delivers superior performance.

This shredder is a workhorse that can handle anything that you can throw at it and will work away until you are finished. I was surprised how quiet is is for such a heavy duty machine.
If there are any flaws, I would have to say the bin is a little flimsy and a little small and the shredder head is a little too far over to one side causing buildup on one side.

SHREDS/SHREDS NO JAM at all
We had always had the low end of shredders in the past. I was always getting it jammed. I don't have the time to watch or pay employees to feed the shredder. I ran the shredder for more than 2 hours shredding our back up, from our cheap shredder that gave out last week. I know once again, YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!!!! This shredder is so quiet compared to the others we had owned. I can talk on the phone and shred while talking. Never could I hear over the other shredders.

This shredder is messy
The shredder works well but when the basket is full and you try to empty it, it creates a huge mess. The shredder head is so close to the left side of the machine it drops shredder material on the outside of the basket. You have to sweep up the mess inside the machine and the floor in front of the machine. Had I know this I would not have purchased this machine. I guess it is too late now.

Observations after ownership of lest than a week. All the functions and safety items worked as advertised. It was selected and purchased to complete one major shredding task each year, and basic office light duty shredding on a daily basis. In the last week it has succesfully completed the 'major' task for 2012. A stiffer, more solid container box, with a method of securing the plastic container bags, would I feel be a great improvement.

It's the little things
Great cross-cut shredding and handles credit cards and thicker bundles of paper without a problem. We've had a problem with the sensor. It causes the shredder to continue running after the process is finished. Cleaning it helps, but it's much too sensitive.
Don't expect to get away cheap by using ordinary recycle trash bags either. Only Fellowes bags work in the custom size bin. You have to be careful to put them in the bin correctly too or you can end up with shredded paper everywhere.

A Good Replacement
For my 2 person office, we purchased the Fellows 125Ci as a replacement for a smaller shredder. Before we had the Fellows Shredder out of the box we could see it was a nice machine. It was easy to set up, came with bags and oil that we were not expecting. With the first use we were impressed at the height of the machine, at the speed and how quiet it was. We quickly emptied of box of papers that had been waiting the arrival of the new shredder. With this new shredder, we vowed to not allow our shredding to get backed up again. Only down fall, the shred cut was not as fine as I was expecting.

Hardly even a personal shredder, definitely not commercial
Purchased this shredder new 5 years ago for use in a one-person mortgage office. Very light usage and would only fill and need to empty the waste bin every one to two months. Recently it started jamming on me with less than 10 sheets of paper. Called into Fellowes customer service which helped me to diagnose that three or four of the stripper teeth are missing and this is causing the cutting block to jam up with paper. I had thought this would be an easy fix, just order new stripper teeth. Nope, they don’t make or have parts for this year model year of the 125Ci anymore. So much for stocking parts for their equipment. The customer service reps were very nice and pointed me in the direction of another company who services these commercial shredders. They also didn’t have the stripper teeth but did offer me a used cutter head assembly at basically the same cost as a brand-new shredder of the same model that I can just order from Amazon. In the end I am surprised they can call this a “commercial” unit, and that with such light use it could fail to do the one thing it was meant to do in such a short period of time for such an expensive shredder. I would not recommend this machine or anything it makes to anyone.

Works great,, but i have two issues. When shredding a lot of documents, the chad can build up in a pile and cause a false full indication. While this is easy to fix by stirring the chad in the bin with my hand, I really shouldn't have to do this. My second issue is that it is hard to guage the size of a stack of paper that will not jam the feeder. The indicator assumes a uniform thickness of paper.

excellent performance
I purchased this shredder from Costco , although it is expensive but I found the features that I need for my business and home work . still the shredder is heavy in compare to others and I have to be carful while moving it . the disappointing thing in this shredder is container that collect the shredded papers is made of cartoon and front is plastic which is weak may need to replaced any time

Fellowes 125Ci -- UNQUALIFIED 5-STAR RATING
This is my 3rd Fellowes across the years. The previous one was a 95Ci. I needed another and got the 125Ci - a bit bigger. These are AMAZING devices. They just work, no matter what. You don't "coddle" it. 20 sheets. Cannot jam. Just oil it periodically. Love it. Customer for life!

Sleek and quiet
This shredder is nice and quiet compared to our old model. It is light & easy to move however the light plastic makes me question the durability of the product. It seems to work well so far and doesn't jam. The quality of the shred is nice whether on paper or cards. My biggest complaint is that this shredder does not have a paper feeder to leave a stack and let it go, instead you do have to stand there and feed it stacks of paper as it goes through them. You do occasionally have to open and shake the drawer as the paper seems to pile much higher in the center which sets off the alert that it's full even though it's not.

Quality, durable machine
Good quality, durable machine. This is the second one we purchased for our office. The first one has seen a lot of use and is still going strong.
