Very bad printer - but HP remedied it with a HP 5800f model
The printer arrived with a multiple of internal errors including smearing of toner across pages. It also continued to report that tray 1 (the tray on the side of the printer) was out of paper, and the tray was not selected in the application I was using. When I was trying to run envelopes, it would leave this huge streak of black toner on the back of the envelope, as well as print the return address on the envelope crooked. Overall it was just a disastrous experience. HP took the printer back, as they determined the printer to be defective, and the company ended up buying a 5800f. Essentially the same printer with a few more features. I can see why they are removing this printer from their printer line up - which is what a technical engineer communicated with me when I explained all of the things that were going wrong with the device. If you can still order them, I would STRONGLY recommend you choose the 5800f model. We have had no problems with this printer at all. ranted we've only made about 2000 impressions on letterhead, but all are free from errors and toner smearing.

Loss of Features
One of the main purposes we purchased this is to have scanning abilities. Unfortunately this printer no long has the scan to computer feature which is extremely disappointing.

Great hardware. Software hiccup.
Excellent workhorse but driver problems that took two calls to resolve.

Inferior
The specs on the website are incorrect. They show the resolution up to 1200 x 1200 dpi. The Fine Lines setting in the printer driver is supposed to be 1200 x 1200 dpi. However, if you click on the Properties tab and you change the Print Quality dropdown to Fine Lines, then click on the Advanced tab, there is a dpi dropdown, but the highest resolution shows 600 dpi. I also use a high quality paper and in the Properties tab there is a Media Type dropdown to choose Intermediate 85-95g but none of these settings can be defaulted in the Management site (EWS) so I have to set them each time I print. Compared to a similarly priced Ricoh, the quality is inferior.
