SO since its powered by the car Battery/Car Alternator (work truck - big diesel - has TWIN Alternators and can supply enough capacity to run a full house if needed!! Thus the"input" power is not the issue here, then only thing left is the "CHARGER ITSELF"> We also have a similar charger (non-Lenovo unit that works at charging our NEW X1 THINK PAD gen 6 Machines. We only going by what time it takes from " battery low alarm" to FULLY CHARGE STATE.... to compare units.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quit working after 3 months This product worked great for 3 months and quit working - I spent over an hour on the phone and over an hour on chat to try to get a replacement/repair (said it can only be replaced for 30 days). I have had several Lenovo ThinkPad's and love the laptops and service contract for the laptops has been outstanding. For some reason after 30 days there is no way to get a replacement if the accessory product goes bad. Wanted to love this product also (and did for 3 months) but very disappointed in service.

The design is a bit clunky with the brick in the middle feeling out of place but it is nice not to put strain on the 12V port. The length of the cable works for many situations but as a result of it's length gets tangled easily so having something to avoid that is a must (even if it is as simple as an elastic.) The power draw is expectedly higher than a phone charger so keep that in mind when planning on using it as it blew a 5A fuse that I should have checked ahead of time.

As the USB C port becomes the standard for laptops, it's no longer necessary to carry this around. I am looking forward to this much lighter adapter to power my laptop, which happens not to be Lenovo.

Mobile Workstation laptop comes configured how we call “5G Ready.” It has the needed antenna and SIM card reader for 5G WWAN service, and I added the WWAN Adapter Card | 5M20Z56333 MECHANICAL FRU THMPADWWAN20X30 WEIHAN at a cost of $26.09 for each machine with a Telus Mobility Nano SIM Card adds to the practicality of the machine being equipped to work remotely anywhere.

The Lenovo wins for economics of power usage. But, our new Lenove came with out a SIM card reader, the USB 3.1 port is not working, and we have not been able to use the computer, just spend too much time with Lenovo at this point. Hoping they will make it right!

So I got a 150w power inverter and plugged the Lenovo AC adapter in to it through the cigarette lighter in my car. It was not enough juice to charge my laptop. So instead of buying a different power inverter, I bought this DC to DC adapter and have not had any issues since.

I've noticed it doesn't really charge while the laptop is being heavily used but it keeps it from decreasing in battery power. However when the laptop is off it seems to charge fine but is a little slower than the AC adapter. Still if you do lots of work from your car or truck this is a must and performs flawlessly!
