Know your gear

Microsoft Office Professional Edition is the ultimate software package that provides the most important applications for today's businesses. These applications are integrated so that all the toolbars are alike, the command and function keys are identical and you can perform tasks from one program to another. Office Professional integrates with other Microsoft applications on your desktop using the same common functionality. Now it is easier to do your work because once you know one application you know them all.

MICROSOFT OPEN VALUE

Microsoft Open Value is a premium volume licensing offer available under the Open License family. Designed for organizations with as few as five computers, Open Value offers simpler license tracking, greater control over the software upgrade cycle, and better software cost management.

Microsoft Open Value offers many benefits:

Track licenses more easily. Open Value provides a single agreement to track all licenses on all your desktops, run the same software version on all your PCs, upgrade to the next version at any time, or run a mix of software versions without having to track what is deployed on each desktop.

Gain control of your upgrade cycle. Open Value grants you the rights to run any version of the licensed software and to upgrade at any time, when it is most convenient for you.

Budget more effectively and save money. Open Value offers predictable annual payments, so you can make better informed decisions about what IT projects need to happen each year. In addition, volume pricing helps stretch software budgets further than retail purchase options.

Spread payments. Open Value lets you spread your software costs over three annual payments so you can more effectively manage your software budget and get the software you need now.

SOFTWARE ASSURANCE

Microsoft's Software Assurance gives you automatic access to new technology and provides productivity benefits, support, tools, and training to help deploy and use software efficiently.

With Software Assurance, you receive access to new versions of licensed software released during the term of your agreement to deploy at your own pace. New Version Rights simplifies the procurement process and shortens the business process cycle, allowing you to reduce the costs associated with acquiring new version releases and immediately take advantage of the latest technology.

What do you like best about the product?

Well integrated suite with most of it solutions out there. LDAP, Offimatic, Security.

What do you dislike about the product?

I can't disable anti-threat rules for Exchange, which turns it though because not always MS cathegorization is well done.

What do you like best about the product?

An indispensable tool for the current way of working, both on-site and in smart working, including all the sharing tools necessary for collaboration, even remotely, wherever you are, with the basic Internet connection

What do you dislike about the product?

The ease of use contrasts with the complexity of purchasing and managing licenses for the various components of the suite, especially the components that are part of Azure and Intune

What do you like best about the product?

I find tools like Word, Excel, Teams, and OneDrive indispensable for productivity and collaboration. Their integration across devices and platforms makes it easy to stay connected, organized, and efficient whether you're working remotely or in-office. Everything feels well-integrated, and it just works—no matter where you are or what device you’re using.

What do you dislike about the product?

The subscription cost can be high, especially for small businesses or freelancers. Additionally, some advanced features—particularly in admin and security settings—can be overly complex or hidden deep within menus, which may be a challenge for less experienced users.

What do you like best about the product?

I like best about M365 integration with ServiceNow is how it streamline communication and enhances automation for example from governance, it enables better tracking of Microsoft licenses and usage and you can know who's the user is using the specific license, and you can track another specific fields. It's ease of implementation because there is a document to implement easily. The customer support from Microsoft is good.

What do you dislike about the product?

The downside is getting used to it at first and knowing each option is located, with a frequency of use, you can adapt your work day by day and other than that, I have no complaints.

What do you like best about the product?

What I like most about Microsoft Office is how comprehensive it is. You can do just about anything you want between Excel, PowerPoint, and Word every day. They're reliable and well rounded

What do you dislike about the product?

I wish Word had more FAQs or troubleshooting instead of having Google, but it's still fairly easy to navigate with the internet.

What do you like best about the product?

Like that it is subscription based, compared to the previous Office 2024, Which was a one-time purchase. But subscription based just makes things easier. So that is definitely a good point. Secondly the fact that you can choose a Microsoft 365 Package to suite your needs, either home/ student or small office use. It works out cheaper.

What do you dislike about the product?

Nothing so far. Product bundles or Bands are well thought out. So nothing to dislike as yet

What do you like best about the product?

It has applications like Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Outlook. The cloud-based collaboration features, particularly in Teams productivity and teamwork, it can be very useful for hybrid work environments, wide range of automation tools, like Power Automate, workflows.

What do you dislike about the product?

the advanced features in apps like workflow, automation and Teams administration require training to utilize effectively, especially for users less familiar with technology

What do you like best about the product?

This can answered in one sentence about how connected you become when you step outside the box that most people still only know about - Office - Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook, and Access. There is a whole world of softwrew built right in and more opportunities to become more efficient.

What do you dislike about the product?

I don't think there is a downside other than cost. It does seem to get more expensive and end users should have a choice of the apps they want. For instance, if I could buy a subscription for the apps I want in a package so that Microsoft would slow down the market increases on cost per license, such as a 3, 5, 7 or 10 App package it may help to drive more people into using it more.
