Premium protection for your expensive computer and audio/visual equipment, the ULTRABLOK Isobar 2-Outlet Surge Protector features a surge protection rating of 1410 joules to defend your sensitive electronics against even the strongest surges and spikes. In fact, Tripp Lite will repair or replace any connected equipment damaged by surges, including direct lightning strikes, up to $10,000 for life (valid in the U.S., Canada and Puerto Rico only).
The ULTRABLOK features two NEMA 5-15R outlets, perfect for your flat-panel HDTV and Blu-ray player or a pair of computer peripherals, such as a printer and a router. This unit's unique protection system prevents disruptive line noise from causing A/V distortion, computer lock-ups, data errors and similar problems. Large toroidal chokes, ferrite rod-core inductors, HF/VHF capacitors and multiple layers of metal oxide varistors remove EMI/RFI interference and prevent system crashes, reboots and performance problems.
Because residential power outlets have three wires - hot line (H), neutral (N) and ground (G) - the ULTRABLOK protects all three, covering two protection modes: full normal mode (H-N) and common mode (N-G/H-G).
An integrated 15A circuit breaker protects all outlets and shuts down connected equipment in the event of an overload. Diagnostic LEDs show power, protection and line fault status at a glance. The ULTRABLOK plugs directly into any standard NEMA 5-15R outlet. Optional mounting hardware is included for permanent attachment to the outlet cover, which will prevent the ULTRABLOK from coming loose accidentally.

It allows you to utilize both plugs on a single gang box or all four plugs on a double gang box. And you get an extra outlet to boot. I now feel comfortable plugging my computer and stereo gear into the wall and not worrying about frying them every time there's a thunder storm. I have a whole house surge protector as well so this is insurance that pays off for once. Love them and will probably get one or two more as time goes by.

Very solid built product made from an extruded aluminum housing with a matte black finish. Plugs directly into the wall so it saves space and can be hidden easily behind my desk area. LED indicators display if the wiring is correct in the home and protection is available for components connected to the surge protector. I installed these due to a homeowners policy change... now my homeowners insurance will not cover any damaged electronics unless they are connected to a surge suppression device. If the surge suppression device is connected to the electronic equipment, and it is damaged, they then will cover it.

I've got it set up on my basement electronics panel to protect routers and wireless internet gear. It's simple, built well and doesn't buzz or make noise.

The insurance investigators determined that the fire was caused by a failed surge suppressor/power strip used to connect the power cord for a television. I asked my son-in-law who is an electrical engineer to study surge surpressors and make a recommendation for me. The TrippLite UltraBlok is the one he recommended, so I purchased four of them to protect each of the TVs in our home. They were delivered promptly and the enclosed installation instructions were easy to follow We feel much safer knowing that our home is protected by a quality product.
