This universal docking station with PD Charging expands the potential of your tablet, laptop, Chromebook, MacBook, smartphone or PC's USB-C or Thunderbolt 3 port. Connect the dock using the included USB-C cable, and add 14 ports to your device: 4K HDMI; 4K DisplayPort; 1080p VGA; RJ45 Gigabit Ethernet; (2) USB 2.0; (2) USB 3.0; USB 3.0 with BC 1.2; USB-C PD Charging; USB-C data; 3.5 mm mini stereo and SD and Micro SD card slots.
By connecting the detachable USB-C cable to a source device that supports USB DisplayPort Alt Mode, you can output 4K video and digital audio to a compatible monitor, television or projector without installing special software drivers.
To send digital audio and Ultra High Definition video to a 4K-ready HDMI or DisplayPort television, projector or monitor, connect the corresponding port to the display using an HDMI or DP cable (such as Tripp Lite's P569-Series HDMI or P580-Series DP cables, sold separately). The DisplayPort and HDMI ports support UHD video resolutions up to 4096 x 2160 (4K x 2K) at 30 Hz with 4:4:4 chroma subsampling for top-level PC gaming or using your HDTV as a PC monitor. The VGA port supports high-definition resolutions up to 1920 x 1200, including 1080p, at 60 Hz.
By connecting the detachable USB-C cable to a source that supports Single-Stream Transport (SST) or Multi-Stream Transport (MST), you may connect three monitors simultaneously. You can display the same image on all three monitors (SST), extend the desktop across them (MST), or combine them into one large monitor in video wall mode (MST). Maximum resolutions are 1920 x 1080 (@ 60 Hz) in SST mode and 1280 x 720 (@ 60 Hz) in MST mode. Note: Mac OS laptops or computers will only extend to one monitor. The others will be mirrored.
Three USB 3.0 ports accept flash drives, mice, keyboards, printers and other USB peripherals, transferring data back and forth at speeds up to 5 Gbps. One is also BC 1.2-compliant, delivering up to 1.5A of fast-charging power to mobile devices. Two other ports are USB 2.0.
The USB-C 100W Power Delivery (PD) port provides power and charging to the connected PD Charging-compliant device (such as a MacBook, Chromebook or Android smartphone). Connect the device's AC wall charger to the USB-C PD port, which supports power input up to 20V 5A (100W). That's sufficient wattage to fast-charge, sync and power most high-capacity devices, including the MacBook Pro. This port, as well as the dock's other USB-C port, can also be used for transferring data up to 5 Gbps. PD 3.0 Fast Role Swap technology ensures all data and power connections remain stable if the wall charger becomes accidentally dislodged.
The RJ45 port offers access to a Gigabit Ethernet network when no Wi-Fi is available or when a wired connection offers faster speeds. Connect using a UTP cable (Tripp Lite N201-Series Cat6 cables sold separately), and enjoy true 10/100/1000 Mbps Ethernet speeds for fast data transfers.
The laptop docking station's 3.5 mm mini stereo jack is convenient for connecting speakers, headphones or a microphone to your workstation. You can listen to music or record the latest episode of your podcast.
The memory card slots support Micro SD and SD/MMC cards for transferring data to and from your connected computer, laptop or tablet.
