Offers detailed reports to users, and it is easy to maintain

What is our primary use case? I use the solution in my company to monitor the backup status and to plan in areas like capacity planning, such as how much current backup utilization is used. The tool can maybe predict the future trend of the data groups and their growing size. What is most valuable? The solution's most valuable feature is that its reports are detailed compared to other tools. It can integrate with VMware, and it can see VMware's recent status while it can receive alerts for Veeam Backup. The tool can be highly integrated with VMware and other Veeam solutions. Reporting-wise, the product is good. You can choose any templates for your report from the solution's consolidated data. What needs improvement? The tool should add more hypervisors inside it, like Hyper-V or Nutanix since it is an area of concern in the solution currently. I feel that the product's support team needs improvement. I feel that there are some new features in the new version of the product, which is Veeam ONE 12.1, and it also has some anti-malware functionalities. I have not found the new features in the product to be useful because it has so many false positives. The product needs to be integrated with some antivirus solution so that its new features can be used in a better way. For how long have I used the solution? I have been using Veeam ONE for three to four years. My company has a partnership with Veeam ONE. What do I think about the stability of the solution? So far, my company has not had any issues with the product in terms of stability. We have installed the product and it runs properly without any major issues. How are customer service and support? The solution's technical support is satisfactory. I rate the technical support an eight out of ten. How would you rate customer service and support? Positive Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch? My company uses Arcserve and some products from China, like Vinchin. Acronis was also a solution that was used in my company in the past. So far, we found that Veeam ONE is quite good compared to other products. Veeam ONE is balanced in terms of its interface, backup design concepts, and backup infra. How was the initial setup? The product's initial setup phase was quite straightforward. One person can manage the product's installation phase. The solution can be deployed in two to three hours. You just let it run with SQL and some other things. The installation process is quite straightforward. I just follow the installation steps, and it can be done easily. What was our ROI? I have seen some time-saving benefits from the use of the product in my country, up to 20 to 30 percent. What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing? I consider that the product's price falls under the middle range category. What other advice do I have? The solution is easy to maintain, but so far, we didn't have any major issues with the tool. Actually, in our organization, we didn't go for any compliance parts with the tool. For our customers, we went for some audit purposes to meet some compliance requirements. Veeam ONE can generate some particular compliance report files from its users' available data. I rate the tool a nine out of ten. Provides montoring with best support and easy deployment

What is our primary use case? We use the solution for monitoring purposes. What needs improvement? The price could be cheaper. Veeam ONE should make the work easier without installing additional dashboards to start configuration. For how long have I used the solution? I have been using Veeam ONE for nine years. How are customer service and support? Support is best. How would you rate customer service and support? Positive How was the initial setup? Deployment is not difficult and takes three to four hours to complete. What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing? The product is expensive. What other advice do I have? One person can manage all parameters. Overall, I rate the solution a ten out of ten. Disclaimer: I am a real user, and this review is based on my own experience and opinions.

Offers easy-to-navigate features but needs improvement in technical support

What is our primary use case? My company uses Veeam's available tools on an on-premises model. We don't have a cloud workload. We aim for the on-premises replication and backup application through Veeam. Veeam ONE is used as a backup for all of our critical workloads. My company also does the replication part with DR. Veeam ONE, which is used for centralized monitoring and for all the workloads, so it will give us some kind of capacity planning and performance recommendations. What is most valuable? The most valuable feature of the solution stems from the fact that the replication part can be managed with some kind of automatic switchover capabilities as well, which is a good feature available compared with other products. We won't have to deal with the servers with different IPs that are segmented since Veeam ONE automatically takes care of it. We can also do a switchover from primary DB to DR or DR to primary DB, and it is somewhat very easy and user-friendly, especially if you compare it with other products. The tool provides an easy-to-navigate feature of all the functionalities it has for its users. What needs improvement? There are certain shortcomings associated with the virtualization infrastructure. If it is possible to have some kind of infrastructure that provides application visibility, then it can be a huge advantage for the users. I would like to expand a total maintenance solution for the infrastructure side which can include applications, storage, and everything. Veeam ONE will be confined to some VM resource-level solutions, but I think it needs to grow beyond that. I want the product to be available at a cheaper rate. For how long have I used the solution? I have been using Veeam ONE for more than four years. I am a customer of the tool. I think my company uses Veeam ONE 7.0, which is the latest version of the product. What do I think about the stability of the solution? It is a stable solution. Stability-wise, I rate the solution a seven out of ten. What do I think about the scalability of the solution? Scalability-wise, I rate the solution a six out of ten. Introducing a cloud version of the tool can increase its scalability. Only the administration people use Veeam ONE, which consists of around two or three people. The product is used on a daily basis. There is no plan to increase the number of users associated with the product. How are customer service and support? There are no immediate technical certified people in Sri Lanka. Support is very difficult. Certified people are not available to provide support services. I rate the tool's support services as a three out of ten. How would you rate customer service and support? Negative Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch? Currently, our company uses Barracuda Spam Filter and Barracuda Email Security Gateway. My company also uses an open-source ESP tool for email security. I have experience with Commvault and Veritas. How was the initial setup? On a scale of one to ten, where one is difficult, and ten is easy to set up, I rate the product's initial setup phase a seven out of ten. With the configuration part, the lack of technical people, like engineers or local engineers, to do the setup part is an issue, and it is the only difficulty that we have come across. During the product's deployment phase, there are a few configuration issues while doing certain kinds of activities. The solution is deployed on an on-premises model. The solution can be deployed in one or two days. One person can deploy the solution. What was our ROI? I think the tool saves us time and effort when doing any type of activity. What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing? On a one to ten scale, where one is very cheap and ten is very expensive, I rate the price as a five out of ten. Which other solutions did I evaluate? I evaluated Veeam ONE against Commvault. Veeam ONE's replication capability is better than that of Commvault. What other advice do I have? The product has improved data management tasks, especially in the area of capacity planning. The capacity planning provides suggestions on which VMs where oversizing is required or whether there is under sizing that is required. The analytics capabilities have helped our company's decision making processes since based on the tool's capacity planning feature, we will know what will be the resource consumption. Based on the resource consumption part, we can decide whether we need to go in with another resource allocation or do we need some kind of a hardware upgrade. It is possible to have an initial budget allocation based on the usage of the resources. I am satisfied with the product. I rate the tool a seven out of ten. Which deployment model are you using for this solution? On-premises Disclaimer: I am a real user, and this review is based on my own experience and opinions.customer

Ensures backup management features while maintaining stability, quick deployment, excellent technical support and compatibility with various virtual machine environments

What is our primary use case? We use it to backup our VMs. How has it helped my organization? It assists in enhancing data protection and recovery strategies, including disaster recovery scenarios where backups are replicated to alternative locations for additional redundancy. Additionally, these tools enable the scheduling of backups at specified intervals, ensuring that backup copies are retained for a defined period to facilitate recovery when necessary. Veeam ONE helps in supporting risk management initiatives. What is most valuable? Backup management features are crucial for ensuring the reliability and automation of backup processes. These features enable automatic scheduling of backups, reducing the likelihood of human error associated with manual backup procedures. Additionally, they offer the capability to protect data consistently and reliably, mitigating the risk of data loss due to oversight or human error. For how long have I used the solution? I have been working with it for several years. What do I think about the stability of the solution? Stability is excellent; there have been no instances of technical issues or downtime experienced. What do I think about the scalability of the solution? The majority of our clients are enterprises. How are customer service and support? The quality of technical support is satisfactory. I would rate it nine out of ten. How would you rate customer service and support? Positive Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch? We utilize various tools from different brands such as NEC, HP, and VMware. However, Veeam stands out as a superior option due to its ability to seamlessly integrate and manage multiple VM environments. How was the initial setup? The initial setup and implementation process is relatively straightforward. However, challenges may arise, particularly concerning data management, especially when dealing with large volumes of data. The complexity tends to increase as the amount of data grows. What about the implementation team? Deployment can be completed swiftly, typically within a month. However, the duration of tasks such as replication increases proportionally with the size of the data being handled. What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing? The pricing is reasonable and falls within the average range. What other advice do I have? I would recommend it, although we've only utilized the backup feature. Overall, I would rate it eight out of ten. Disclaimer: My company has a business relationship with this vendor other than being a customer:Partner

Offers robust monitoring and reporting features and ensures businesses maintain high levels of data availability

What is our primary use case? We use Veeam ONE mostly for data backup and recovery for virtualized environments. What is most valuable? One valuable feature of Veeam ONE for backup management is its dashboard, which offers a comprehensive view of backups and other essential data. What needs improvement? In terms of improvement, I have found Veeam ONE to be lacking in some areas. The reports are basic and not customizable, making it challenging to get detailed insights. Additionally, there are limitations with the reports if your backup schedule runs overnight. I hope they release a better version soon. For how long have I used the solution? I have been using Veeam ONE for two and a half years. What do I think about the stability of the solution? I would rate the overall stability of Veeam as a seven. While it is reliable for general backups and snapshots, it faces challenges with scale-out and Oracle backups. The Azure scale-out feature also presents stability issues, with most of our tickets revolving around that area. What do I think about the scalability of the solution? I would rate the scalability of Veeam ONE as a five out of ten. While it can scale, it is heavily dependent on factors like bandwidth and data volume. Our organization, being data-heavy, faces challenges with scale-outs due to bandwidth limitations. Smaller organizations might find it easier to scale without such constraints. We have around ten users currently using Veeam ONE in our organization, overseeing the protection of approximately 3,000 workloads. How are customer service and support? I would rate Veeam's support as a nine overall. Tier one support can be weak, but tier two is excellent. We often need to escalate to tier two for resolution. Occasionally, issues require R&D involvement, but overall, support is reliable. How would you rate customer service and support? Positive Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch? We chose Veeam over Commvault because it is simpler to use and more cost-effective. Commvault's complexity and lack of readiness for cloud backups made it less appealing. Veeam offered comprehensive backup solutions for on-premises, Azure, and Office 365, with fewer hardware requirements compared to Commvault. How was the initial setup? Deploying Veeam ONE in our organization took around one to one and a half hours. It was straightforward, it was just a matter of connecting to the server and following a few steps. We handle maintenance and troubleshooting for Veeam ONE in-house with a team of two to three people. If we can't resolve issues internally, we escalate to Veeam support. We used to have weekly catch-ups during critical issues but now have shifted to monthly since there are no critical issues currently. Overall, it is a straightforward product that doesn't require frequent maintenance once set up. What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing? Overall, we find Veeam ONE to be reasonably priced, especially with our long-term deals. Its capability to manage various aspects of our infrastructure, including on-premises and Azure, adds significant value. While we initially tried Azure native backup, we found Veeam to be more comprehensive and user-friendly. Although we currently use two backup solutions, we are considering consolidating everything under Veeam in the future. What other advice do I have? We don't use Veeam ONE for monitoring our virtual environment due to compatibility issues with other software like Pulse SolarWinds. We primarily use it for backup activities. I have tested it and found it promising, but haven't run it extensively due to operational concerns. I use Veeam ONE for proactive issue resolution by relying on its reports. If something isn't healthy, the report alerts me. Then I investigated further, like when it flagged issues with our proxy server's pricing. I don't check it daily; I schedule reports and review them, giving me a basic idea of what is happening. If I see unexpected issues in the report, I know where to focus my attention. While I don't use it for daily monitoring, it is handy for reporting. Veeam ONE's reporting capabilities provide a decent overview, but I need more granularity for our data protection strategies. While the reports are okay, they sometimes lack the detail my team and boss require. I'm currently exploring ways to meet our need for more detailed reporting, such as tracking data scaled out to Azure. Veeam ONE's analytics have helped us with IT decision-making by identifying issues like poor storage and repository node problems. Its focused view on backup infrastructure narrowed our troubleshooting scope. For instance, it highlighted discrepancies in backup deletion, leading us to uncover a bug in our current version. I would recommend Veeam ONE for small organizations, but for larger ones needing granular reporting, it might fall short. Veeam is continually improving its features and aiming to compete at an enterprise level, but it is still evolving. Overall, I would rate Veeam ONE as an eight out of ten. A product that is easy to use and provides good visibility to users

What is our primary use case? I use my company mostly to monitor Veeam O365's licensing and backup. In our company, we don't use it for infrastructure monitoring. What is most valuable? The most valuable features of the solution stem from the fact that it works well for our company. The main feature we use of Veeam ONE in our company is Veeam O365. What needs improvement? I have no visibility on what needs to be improved in the solution. For our company's usage, the price of the product is considered to be one of the major drawbacks because we have a lot of infrastructure, and its services don't fit well with our needs. The aforementioned area can be considered for improvement in the solution. The price of the product should be reduced. For how long have I used the solution? I have been using Veeam ONE for six months to a year for two of our infrastructures. What do I think about the stability of the solution? Since I haven't received any feedback from my team related to the stability of the product in our company, I rate the product's stability a ten out of ten. What do I think about the scalability of the solution? I don't have any visibility over the scalability options offered by the product. Only two or three people in my organization work with the solution. How was the initial setup? The product's initial setup phase was straightforward. I wasn't involved in the initial setup phase of the product. The solution is deployed on an on-premises model. The solution can be deployed in less than half a day. Though I am not sure about how many people are required to take care of the deployment and maintenance of the product, I am sure that the two or three people who use the solution handle it. What was our ROI? With the use of Veeam ONE, our company was able to identify technical problems in our Veeam infrastructure, and we were also able to do some optimization work with its help. What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing? My company needs to pay towards the licensing cause attached to the solution on a monthly basis as my company operates as a service provider. The product is expensive. Which other solutions did I evaluate? My company did not evaluate other options against Veeam ONE. What other advice do I have? The product fits well according to the needs of our company. Veeam ONE is a simple product that is easy to use, and it provides good visibility of the environments in which it functions. I rate the overall product a nine out of ten. Which deployment model are you using for this solution? On-premises Disclaimer: My company has a business relationship with this vendor other than being a customer:Partner

A tool that offers a sophisticated interface that makes the monitoring part easier

What is our primary use case? I use Veeam ONE in my company to provide customer backup reports if required. Veeam ONE is also useful for monitoring any issues with the current server. My company views logs from Veeam ONE to see if there is any solution that we can give to customers. My company uses Veeam ONE to look at what advice we can give customers to ensure that all their servers are always protected. How has it helped my organization? The benefit I get from the product is that it is a sophisticated monitoring tool that helps our company's team, along with the infrastructure team, view the current status of all the servers monitored with Veeam ONE. What is most valuable? The most valuable feature of the solution is that it offers a very sophisticated interface to view, making it a bit easier for our company's operations team to take care of the monitoring part involving the current status of the server and server backup status. What needs improvement? I think there are no suggestions from my end for an improvement of Veeam ONE. The user experience can be better, as it is one of the areas with shortcomings in the product. I feel Veeam ONE has no downsides apart from its reporting area, which can be improved in such a way that its users can customize more of the report templates in an in-depth manner. I think there are improvements in Veeam ONE that I can see, including the tool's area that provides more flexibility in generating reports for its customers to view. For how long have I used the solution? I have been using Veeam ONE for more than a year. My company operates as a system integrator of the product. What do I think about the stability of the solution? For my current usage, Veeam ONE is pretty stable. What do I think about the scalability of the solution? Veeam ONE is a really scalable solution. Veeam ONE is used by one of my company's customers. How are customer service and support? At times, my company contacts the solution's technical support. My company's support for Veeam ONE is similar to the one we get for the backup solution from Veeam. The suggestions provided by Veeam's support team have been very useful for my company. Veeam's support team provides users with a nice view of the usability of Veeam ONE. I rate the technical support an eight out of ten. How would you rate customer service and support? Positive Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch? For monitoring purposes, my company uses a free, open-source solution like Zabbix. Compared to Zabbix, I feel Veeam ONE can be more useful for monitoring purposes. Compared to Zabbix, I feel Veeam ONE has no downsides apart from its reporting area, which can be improved. How was the initial setup? The product's initial setup phase was straightforward for me. I do not have any experience in the deployment process of Veeam ONE. The solution is deployed on an on-premises model. What was our ROI? To date, I have seen a return on investment from the use of Veeam ONE in my company. The ROI is quite high considering the value Veeam ONE provides its users. What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing? What other advice do I have? People can look at Veeam ONE if they want one application to provide them with a sophisticated monitoring tool and useful backup reports easily. I rate the overall tool an eight out of ten. Which deployment model are you using for this solution?
