What is our primary use case? As per company policy, most internal meetings happen through Google Meet, but for large-scale meetings with more than 500 participants, we use BlueJeans Meetings. It's more like a broadcast meeting platform, which Google Meet doesn't allow. What is most valuable? The main advantage is the ability to host large meetings with up to 500 participants. The sound quality is also better on BlueJeans. I find it pretty intuitive and user-friendly. What needs improvement? In future releases, I would like to see maybe customized virtual backgrounds, like Google Meet has. BlueJeans doesn't allow as much customization of your background in a video call, so that could be improved. For how long have I used the solution? I have been using it for five years. What do I think about the stability of the solution? I don't use it that often, only for broadcasting, so I can't comment on the stability. We use Google Meet day-to-day for smaller meetings, and I've never seen any issues with that. What do I think about the scalability of the solution? It scales to a couple of thousand users, so I don't see any challenges there. Around 15,000 users are using it within your company Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch? Both BlueJeans and Google Meet are fine. I would say BlueJeans is definitely better than Microsoft Teams and Zoom. If someone is using Zoom and looking for a replacement, I would recommend BlueJeans. How was the initial setup? The initial setup is very easy to install. The installation hardly takes two minutes. There is no maintenance required. What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing? We have an enterprise contract with BlueJeans through Red Hat. What other advice do I have? Overall, I would rate the solution a nine out of ten. I would recommend using it. Disclaimer: I am a real user, and this review is based on my own experience and opinions.
What is our primary use case? We use BlueJeans only for meetings and presentations, training, and knowledge transfer sessions. How has it helped my organization? You can use bluejeans to set up a quick meeting anywhere. You I can integrate the bluejeans meeting invite into the calendar. You can allow others to start the meeting if you are running late. And people can use bluejeans across devices such as cell phones, PC tablets, etc. The audio and video quality are acceptable at low internet speeds. My team can join with options where they with Share Screen Only or view & Share Screen no audio or without audio and only participants audio and video What is most valuable? The view area of BlueJeans is good, and there are a lot of actions that a meeting host can take. A host can also designate someone else to conduct the meeting. BlueJeans also provide worldwide toll-free numbers, and there is also a callback feature available. I don't use that feature, but the local toll-free numbers are very helpful because you don't have to pay anything for the meetings. It is available in all flavors. You can use it in the browser, and you can use it on an Android phone for which a BlueJeans app is available. I use an Android phone, so I only know about Android. So, you can join a meeting from the application installed on your phone or from the mobile browser, or you can use it from a laptop or a PC. It is quite easy to use. It is intuitive. Most of such tools are very intuitive. In the top left and top right corners, there is an icon that you can click to know what options are available. Its interface is quite easy, and the icons basically help you select the options that are available. What needs improvement? Its cost is very high. If you sell it in India, which is a price-conscious market, the prices should be as per the market competition. You cannot charge the rates that apply in the US. They should tailor it to the local market. It should be in line with what the competition is offering. For how long have I used the solution? It has been about four and a half years. I started using it in 2017. What do I think about the stability of the solution? I never noticed any crashes or stability-related issues. What do I think about the scalability of the solution? Scalability is not my concern. I'm just a user of the application. I only use it for meetings, and I don't have to see whether it is scalable or not. I'm not using the application from the delivery perspective. How are customer service and support? No complains How would you rate customer service and support? Positive Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch? We sometimes use Zoom, and we sometimes also use WebEx and Google Meet. Personally, I use Google Meet a lot because most of the customers find it very easy-to-use Google Meet, but BlueJeans and WebEx are also very good platforms. A good feature of WebEx is that it gives you remote desktop sharing, which is a wonderful feature. If I was with a technical support company and I had to do something on my client's desktop, I could easily do it. This feature is there in BlueJeans as well, but I have never used it. Like BlueJeans, WebEx also provides a toll-free number, and it is available across the platforms. In a country like India, WebEx and Microsoft Teams are very good. Zoom is also good, but when it comes to the interface, I like BlueJeans the most. Its interface is very easy, and it gives you the maximum view area, and that is one of the reasons I like it. You have the option to decrease the area to at least 25%, so you can customize how much screen area you would like to use. This is something I find unique in BlueJeans. Nobody else has this feature. How was the initial setup? It is very easy. If you're using a Windows PC, the BlueJeans application is available, and you just install it. If you're using a browser, you simply need to put the meeting link. So, it gives you both options. You can either download the application and install it or directly start from the application. If it is already installed, you can use the browser itself. We normally use the cloud version. It seems everything is maintained by them. On the Windows platform, some updates might be applicable, which Windows probably does automatically. For Android, there is always an option where whenever there is an update, it gives a notification that an update is available. What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing? I once tried buying it for myself, but it was very costly. It is quite expensive as compared to other solutions. The cheapest one is Google Meet, which is free, and if you want to go for a subscribed version, you can do that. It is as low as 130 rupees a month, which is almost nothing. It's like $2 per month. With BlueJeans, there are carrier charges if you call the toll-free number. The customer doesn't pay for the call, but the buyer or the subscriber of BlueJeans has to pay for it. That is where BlueJeans becomes very costly, and that is where Google, Microsoft Teams, and Zoom are very helpful because you don't have to pay these charges. Which other solutions did I evaluate? No, I just started using it since my client gave to me. After that I tried with Zoom, Teams and WebEx What other advice do I have? BlueJeans is a very good tool. If a company has a very large network, and more than 100 or 200 users are joining a web conference, BlueJeans is a very good tool. I have never experienced quality issues with the voice or video, but it is costly. I would rate it a nine out of 10.
