Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worked instantly and perfectly with Win10 T.P.I purchased this to upgrade my laptop that had 10/100 Ethernet. Later, I installed Win10 Tech Preview on my desktop, and the Intel driver for the I218v gigabit Ethernet adapter wasn't compatible. Dug this adapter out of a drawer, plugged it in to USB3, and instantly had gigabit Ethernet. It's a great performer - I'm impressed all over again. Thanks, StarTech!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works - sometimesAt first it worked, later sometimes and now hardly. I think the driver has trouble coping with the W10 updates.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from REQUIRES BOOT FROM DISC!!This connector requires booting the software from the enclosed disc! Why?? I don't know! Some of the spec sheets don't even mention that, although it'sprinted on the box IN LITTLE BITTY LETTERS.For my constant, everyday use, it's USELESS.Am I missing something?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Doesn't work with current Linux kernelsThe datasheet says this works with Linux kernels up to 3.5.0. But the current version of Ubuntu uses 4.15.0. Is there a driver version that will work with current releases of Ubuntu? Strangely, it seems to work fine with Linxux Mint which also runs the 4.15.0 kernel.
